This is pretty amazing. I'm laying on the couch trying to decide between a few things to enjoy this evening and end up finding Flash vol. 2 issue 1.

And what do I see? The transplant scene from Young Justice being played out in a 1987 comic book!

Wish I'd known what the reference was sooner, but now I'm wondering how many gems like this there might be! What else do you guys know of?

Ha, yep, that was one of the first comics I got off of my brother.  I'll bet almost every episode is a reference to something or other.

I know that various people write them so it may vary from writer to writer.

Just looked up the guy who wrote the episode "Coldhearted", and he doesn't even work in the comics biz. His brother has done some comics stuff though.

Great reference either way.

Fun to randomly stumble across it.

Someday I hope to read the phrase "it was the nineties, we were slapping pony tails on everyone." from a creator.

I'd like to watch it, but I still haven't seen a shitload of episodes (as it sounds like I stopped right when people started raving about the series, which was several months ago).  Maybe one of these days...

Season 1 was okay and growing on me. Season 2 blew me out of the water. Face it, it's fun to see giant ensembles of comic characters on screen and no show has done that better for me than this one having so many of the young heroes I like with adult heroes joining in for cameos and guest spots.
