Great, great concept for a villain...or a hero, when he joined the Avengers. Also, that non-costume, the wavy hair, and the nifty Klassic Kirby Kostume he wore with the Frightful Four.

Paul Feig Contributed to The Amazing Spider-Man's Screenplay

by SuperHeroHype

April 23, 2012

Though he's now best known for helming the hit comedy Bridesmaids, Paul Feig is no stranger to creative cameos, oftentimes appearing as an actor for small-scale roles (as was the case with last year's Bad Teacher). Today, Feig revealed to Vulture that he's got a new surprise appearance coming up, this time as a writer for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man.

"He's a great guy," Feig told the outlet of Webb. "He invited me on set and I did a little bit of writing for that movie for one of the high school scenes."

Getting Feig back to high school should delight fans of his much-lauded series "Freaks and Geeks" (which itself helped launch the career of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man star James Franco).

Swinging into 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on July 3, the action adventure stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

A New Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man Arrives with The Avengers

by SuperHeroHype

April 24, 2012

If the combined team-up of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury and the Hulk isn't enough to get you into a theater next weekend, prepare to throw Batman and Spider-Man into the mix. Marc Webb confirmed today on Attack of the Show that a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man will be joining the previously announced trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before screenings of Marvel's The Avengers, beginning Friday, May 4th. According to Webb, the trailer will likely arrive online first, sometime next Thursday.

The Amazing Spider-Man, meanwhile, is set for release on July 3rd and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. Directed by Marc Webb, the film arrives with a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are coming on board to work on the screenplay for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the continuation of the Webb film's viral campaign, the latest message from which was just right here at SuperHeroHype.

When I saw that TDKR was going to be advertised in front of The Avengers I posted on facebook it may not be decent for children to be present in the theater. This pushes it over the edge.

He did some good, silly, comic-book looking work once upon a time.

New International Poster for The Amazing Spider-Man

by SuperHeroHype

April 27, 2012

Following the two new posters last week, we've received this new international poster for The Amazing Spider-Man, thanks to 'RealIrOnMaN'.

Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on July 3, the Marc Webb-directed action adventure stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
