I've been playing this for the 360 for a couple of weeks now, and I'm practically hooked. I definitely can see myself getting deeply involved (100+ hours) before I get tired of it. Still pretty early into the story, but it definitely has a Lord of the Rings feel. The battle system is pretty intuitive, but I'll need to up my mage's mana so I can really rock. Love my war dog. It's like a short haired akita on roids. Anyone else playing?

Not yet bro. I really like the look of it, a have been thinkin about pickin up a copy. I dig the D&D type shit. Is an rpg deal kinda like the Fable games or just pretty much a battler?

Haven't played Fable, so I can't compare the two. Haven't played D&D in about 15 years, but DA kinda feels like that. While I haven't played Baldur's Gate, a lot of the reviews I've read have called Dragon Age a sort of spiritual successor to it. Not sure what they mean, but if you've played Baldur's Gate you may know.

I rented it and enjoyed it for what it was, will probably pick it up when it's cheaper second-hand as I was nowhere near completing it.
It's nothing like Fable more of a Diablo - Balder's Gate type rpg.
It's very LOTR inspired which in my book is no bad thing.

Baldur's Gate games are some of the best games I ever played. I really got attached to the characters in my party. And you could take your main character from one game to the next so you had that continuity. Moves you like a really good book does. Diablo on the other hand is more of an overhead hack and slash with some RPG elements thrown in. If this game is a spiritual successor to Baldu'r's Gate though, I'll play the hell out of it.
Thanks for the tip.

Now that I'm pretty much done with The Ballad of Gay Tony, it's time to jump back on this game.

I just got a PS3 (thank you gift certificate from my brother!) and this was the first game I got. It's made by the same people that did the first Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and the gameplay and storylines are almost exactly the same. At least for the Dwarf fighter I'm starting out as.

I gotta get back on Dragon Age. Been a few weeks. Also need to get the Uncharted games eventually.
Congrats on the PS3 score, Chooch!

Having just ordered a new pc last week...I'll be snagging the PC version of this in the near future.
And Arkham Asylum...can't wait for that one.

Both good games, Darth. And Raj, thanks for the congrats! I've logged a few serious hours on the game today, just breaking a bit to talk to you guys. I'm fairly hooked, but the striking similarities to KOTOR are a bit much.

Haven't played either of the KOTOR games. I'll have to try to track them down, eventually, since they're not available for download on XBox Live.

I played them on the PC, which was easier to control. I suspect Dragon Age would be as well. If you dig Dragon Age and you dig Star Wars, it's exactly what you would expect. The second one got shafted because Lucas Arts moved up the release date, making them cut out an entire planet and rush the ending. The first one is perfection though.

Jade Empire by the same team is also excellent.
IIRC it's available on Live's games on demand (in Britain at least).
