Here is the post credit scene for those of you who only stayed for the Mid Credit scene, or who do not live in the US.

Late, but popping in to say- fantastic. What a gift for the comics fan.
Who'da thunk, looking back on all those years of Stan's Soapbox, when he was hinting at all those supposed Hollywood deals that never seemed to materialize, that we'd actually get THIS. I know I didn't.
(I hope it makes a billion dollars, and shows WB that it actually is possible to make good superhero films if you respect the characters and the source material. Oh, and hire the right people then get out of their way.)

It will never show them, because they will never admit they did anything wrong. The same bad decisions that led to Steel and Batman and Robin, gave us Green Lantern.
And even if somehow it did?they would micromanage any ensemble film and pull their punches.
If by some miracle they can overcome ALL OF THAT and the movie isn't a steaming pile of shit?
Marvel still did it first.
DC's opportunity to wow the world with a Justice League Film is Summer 2005.

The Avengers
Makes $80.5 Million Its Opening Day!
by
SuperHeroHype
May 05, 2012
Walt Disney Pictures is reporting an opening day of $80.5 million for
Marvel's The Avengers
in 4,349 theaters nationwide, building upon the $18.7 million from midnight screenings the night before. If this number sticks, it will be the second-biggest opening day for a movie ever, following behind the $91 million grossed by
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2
its opening day last summer.
In our
report
yesterday on the movie's midnight grosses, it didn't seem like
The Avengers
was going to be setting any records other than May opening, because it earned less at midnight than last month's
The Hunger Games
, but what a difference a full day makes. The extraordinary business the movie brought in Friday is a strong indicator that the movie may indeed break the current opening weekend held by "Deathly Hallows." In fact, we could now see the movie opening somewhere between $170 and 180 million, which would completely demolish the $169 million made by the current record holder.
We certainly know better than to "count our chickens" and breaking that record will mainly depend on whether that Friday business holds up through Saturday and Sunday--the film's rare A+ CinemaScore is a good sign it will have legs. Either way, Marvel Studios' first movie distributed and marketed through Walt Disney is already looking to be the biggest movie released by either, and this puts even more pressure on Christopher Nolan's
The Dark Knight Rises
and its release later this summer.
Internationally, the movie added another $30 million yesterday, having also opened in Russia and China, and globally, the movie has grossed $415 million, which means that it may have already made back its reported $220 million production budget.

Not to mention Jonah Hex, Catwoman, Constantine and The Losers.

i was looking at a Marvel Age from 1987 where Stan was saying "Hold on to your hats, true believers! Old Shellhead is on his way to the big screen!"

True story. One spring day, back in 1986, I was walking down Hollywood Boulevard and saw these two movie posters at Mann's Chinese:
Needless to say, that particular Spider-Man movie never came out.
It's funny. Back in the 80's and 90's, fans used to talk about the "Marvel Curse" when it came to Marvel and movies. They couldn't seem to get anything off the ground, while DC was doing okay with Superman and Batman.
It all turned around for Marvel with X-Men in 2000. Most fans thought the movie would bomb or go straight to DVD. No real big names, an untested director with special effects heavy movies, no big marketing campaign, ect. But it was a hit, earning nearly 160 million domestic. And Marvel's been on a roll ever since. Now DC can't seem to get anything going.

The boys LOVED it, Giovanni literally sat in awe the entire movie didn't say a word at all, eyes WIDE open. The movie ends, we sit through all the credits, and Giovanni turns, looks at me and says
That was the greatest thing I have ever seen.
Then, he looks at the screen and screams at the top of his lungs
THAT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The vote was to bring Fudruckers home so that an Avengers battle could take place. They have their burgers on one of the picnic tables in the backyard and the war from the movie is in mid progress all over the yard.
And so you guys know, The Mess has a big part of that battle, you guys remember when you sent him that big box of Cobra's from the movie? Well they are now the Chitauri and are in full battle with the Marvel Universe versions of Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Hulk, though Vision has also been added because Gio says every team needs a robot.
Now I just have to track them down that exclusive Fury from the TRU Iron Man set........

Speaking of Vision, Shane has decided that Coulson is not dead, he is in a coma and they are going to put his brain into a robot to make Vision.

Went and saw it again, today! Man this time in IMAX 3-D...WOW......the sound was amazing! I loved it even more than the first time, today it really did sink in that I was watching a childhood dream come true! The interactions were much better, I love the Hawkeye/Widow tandem, and the Hulk...OH HOLY SHIT, THE HULK!!!!
