So we'll get to see something our Aussie and British friends haven't seen?
Aww, shucks...sorry guys (and gal)...
Maybe they didn't want spoilers for those two nations.... I heard Capt Britain and Capt Kangaroo are asked by Fury to join the Avengers after the credits roll.

24 hours from now...
the bridge of my nose will be aching
from the 3D glasses I'll be wearing
as The Avengers come to life
on a screen dozens of feet high in front of me.
And yeah, fuck the Marvel Zombies -- I've decided THIS will be the shirt I'll be wearing.

The scene is amusing enough, but it doesn't set-up anything.
Off to see it again tonight only in 2D this time.

I knew that, but figured I could wave the geek flag for both of us.
I mean, I don't get mad and hate people who wear them. They just aren't for me.
I'm super psyched for tomorrow night, and so are my midnight movie buddies. This shit's gonna rule. I might take my cap shield frisbee with me and toss it around the theater.

Nice. I've got a few shirts I'm debating on, including a few DC ones, but will probably go with my Thor movie shirt for Friday.
Haven't been to the LCS lately, so I don't know if the regulars are planning a midnight viewing tonight, and I couldn't get any family/friends to take off Friday so they'd be able to go at midnight. May just show up anyway.

Marvel's The Avengers
Assemble at Gallery1988
by
SuperHeroHype
May 02, 2012
Los Angeles' Gallery1988 was host tonight to a special reception that kicked off its gallery tribute to
Marvel's The Avengers
, hitting theaters everywhere this Friday.
While the official art showcase opens to the public tomorrow, May 3rd and runs through Sunday the 6th, SuperheroHype was on-hand for tonight's event, which was also attended by the likes of the film's writer/director Joss Whedon and Agent Coulson himself, Clark Gregg. Even the catering was Avengers-inspired, including elaborate superhero cupcakes by the "Cupcake Wars" winning bakery, "The Cake Mamas".
Gallery1988, which opened in 2004, is known worldwide for its dedication to showcasing pop culture art. The Avengers show features the work of popular artists, including Dave Perillo, Rhys Cooper, Scott Campbell, Luke Chueh, Ken Garduno, Kiersten Essenpreis and NC Winters, among others. I'm going! I've got my ticket. I'll be leaving shortly.
I figure only hard core Marvel fans will sit through a six movie marathon, and here in San Diego a fan event usually means people show up in costume and there's a party atmosphere. I'll bring my camera and share pics.
Mike
(Wow. I've waited all my life to see this movie and it's about to happen. Now, if only Warner Brothers can get their shit together and get us a Justice League film ...)
