Going to a draft house theatre.  I actually plan to make sure to get out of the theatre at regular intervals.  Of course some buddies and I plan to make it a drinking game

This movie is exactly the reason that I don't download movies. The sheer epicness just can't come across in a shitty .avi download with crap sound.

Our cinema had the sound turned up to '11' and it was freakin' sweet.  Grin

I've downloaded movies like these before but after I've seen them a few times in the theaters but this time I think I'm going to see more than a few times before I even bother trying to download it.

I've seen it once two Saturdays ago and am viewing it this Thursday at the marathon, Friday with my 13yr cousin as I promised to take him two years when I told him about it and have taken him to each MCU film, and Saturday with friends.

My mom wants me to take her a week after its out so that'll be five viewings easily. I think if I can get some tickets at cheaper prices I'll do that to.

At the screening I went to, it was perfect sound wise and the crowd was so into it that I missed a some lines a few times.

Holy crap! That is really amazing.

From Deadline:

Quote
Still more countries are reporting grosses. The superhero super-blockbuster doesn’t come out in the U.S. until May 4th but already it’s scooping up 60+% of all pre-sold movie tickets online and more than all the previous Marvel films combined.

My sources report $178.4M international box office in its first 5 days of release in 39 territories. Marvel‘s The Avengers from Disney now is playing in approximately 70% of its foreign run. Latin and South America dominated with the highest opening weekend of all time in major markets like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Central America, Peru, and Boliva. As well as the Asian makets which had the highest opening weekends like Hong King, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines. Big ticket nations like Russia, China and Japan still to open, and May Day is a huge holiday. The film is ahead of Alice In Wonderland, Pirates Of the Caribbean 4, Iron Man 2, and The Dark Knight.

It's the final few days of the countdown to The Avengers.  I hope you all will forgive me if I get a little self-indulgent, but I'd like to use these last four days to post some of my own personal favorite Avengers covers from their 49 year history.

I don't know if I'm more jealous because you have a cool CAP t-shirt, or because you had dinner with a cool ROCKO!

Saw Cabin in the Woods last Thursday, so this Thursday (well, at 12:03AM, technically it would be Friday) gonna see my next Whedon flick.  Sad I'll be by my lonesome, but eh, easier to get seats that way I guess!  Too bad there aren't more Messers in the NYC area.

I plan to be wearing a DC shirt though...either my new Deadman shirt or maybe something like Mister Miracle...

And speaking of which...Marvy -- I thought Mistah Jerome didn't care for comic book t-shirts.
