Marvel's The Avengers
to Crossover with... General Hospital?
by
SuperHeroHype
April 23, 2012
In a strange bit of corporate synergy,
Marvel
announced today that this Wednesday's episode of ABC's "General Hospital" will feature a crossover of sorts with
Marvel's The Avengers
.
"Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) attends a movie screening, along with Matt (Jason Cook) and Cameron (Braeden Walkes),"
reads the official description.
"...while contemplating his theory who killed Dr. Lisa Nikes."
A very similar advertising tactic was employed in 2009 when the release of James Cameron's
Avatar
was promoted on an episode of "Bones," making use of the film's star and series regular Joel David Moore. Of course, the Marvel Universe isn't a stranger to unlikely crossovers: Spider-Man visited the set of "Saturday Night Live" in 1978 in "Marvel Team-Up #74," Stephen Colbert appeared just a few years ago in the pages of "The Amazing Spider-Man" #573 and The Avengers themselves went to a David Letterman taping in issue #239. Marvel even crossed over with a soap opera before during a 2006 promotion with "Guiding Light."
"General Hospital" airs weekdays at 3:00pm ET/2:00pm PT on the ABC Television Network.

Okay, absolutely no spoilers here.
I've been back from the movie for about an hour, and my mind is still spinning. For everything that I expected from this film, I got back so, so much more.
What I'm most loving at this point is that the film belonged to everyone. No one character dominated, each had their moments in their own way. Throughout the film, I kept thinking "Wow, this is really Scarlett's film!" or "Ruffalo is stealing the show!", but in the end, it belonged to the whole team.
At the cinema I went to see the film at, it seemed like ever showing was sold out. Our cinema was packed and the crowd was completely into the film. There are so many laugh out loud moments, cheer moment, and heart swelling moments that I simply couldn't list them all if I wanted to.
Whedon deserves every happy thing he ever wants in life for doing this for us.
I am so, so blown away. I know you guys have to wait, but it will be worth EVERY second.
I have never, ever gone back to the cinema to see a film again. This will be my first.

CinemaCon: Shane Black Drops Hints on
Iron Man 3
by
SuperHeroHype
April 24, 2012
The lengthy Disney presentation at CinemaCon may still be going on, but it started off with the Marvel Studios presentation and President of Production Kevin Feige talking about the studio's upcoming slate. For next year's
Iron Man 3
, they showed a brief sizzle reel, which obviously didn't have any new footage (because they only start shooting in three weeks), but it did have a few soundbites from writer/director Shane Black talking about the direction of the movie.
In the video presentation, Black dubbed the movie a "technological thriller" and a "crisis movie" set in the world of "international war, arms and terror" saying that they will "put Tony Stark through the wringer" as they explore the trials of being Tony Stark. Although no villain has been revealed for the film, he said the villain will be one that will "frighten in today's world." Any idea who he might be referring to?
Unfortunately, we've fallen a bit behind on posting but look for a couple more posts about CinemaCon panels and footage shown very soon.
