It's INCREDIBLY likely that the person in question is scammer Matt Mason.
do NOT, under any circumstances exchange money or merchandise with this person, until you have spoken with Measle, John Moores, Coffee Joe, The Superfly, or myself. Doing so is at your OWN RISK.
Make sure you provide us with the address, which we can cross reference with previous addresses he has used to scam people. ANY Illinois Address is suspect. Leave it to those of us who have been following and documenting this thief's patterns. It's the only way we're going to bring him down.
If you do not trust the person, do not exchange anything with them. He has also been known to use addresses in Washington State, and Florida.
If the person in question has an Illinois Address, and a low postcount/recent join date, it is important that you proceed with extreme caution.
If they insist on doing business with you, MAKE THEM SEND THEIR END OF THE BARGAIN FIRST. AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE SHIPPING CONFIRMATION If they do not comply, DO NOT send goods or money.
if you have sent the item and it has not arrived, THERE STILL MAY BE HOPE. Fill out a form 1059, they can call the Kankakee post office and stop delivery. This will be added to the FILE they've currently got on this guy, as it is an ongoing FEDERAL investigation. The more people who do this, the more evidence they will have on him, the more evidence they have, the more likely it is that he will end up in JAIL where he belongs!

This guy NEEDS time away from society, and time away from his family and friends. And because he's stealing TOYS, that's gonna be blood in the water. I plan on MAKING SURE that everybody knows why he's there, and that he gets a proper welcome.
I've spoken to a friend who is an FBI Agent and a former Federal Marshall. We know that Matt Mason's local Postmaster has investigated him in the past, if more people report it, they will flag it as an ongoing investigation, and continue until he is arrested. Keep a record of EVERYTHING. This is all advice from good friends in the law enforcement business.
Accept no excuses, pity, or sob stories. He is a thief and he has no pity for you. He gets off on doing this, and in taking people for thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, he's made not one single bit of restitution, nor felt an ounce of remorse.
do not believe in his stories of drug addiction, or sick children, both of these are lies. He has a nice home, and two healthy children. Both of which I've seen, and know to be true. He lives well, and he is a thief Plain and Simple.
Take him away from his Wife, and his children, see if the harsh reality of not being able to watch them grow up has any effect on him. Don't hesitate to be vindictive or cruel (within the law), as he has no sympathy for you or your family, and wouldn't hesitate to steal from you or them. It's time to take something that really matters from this guy.
