There was mention of an extra-skinny buck being tooled up for DCUC. Seems like a natural choice for Ambush Bug.
... I can't believe the stars are aligning to see Ambush Bug in plastic. Nutty.
actually, I am really excited about the prospect of Kamandi, in the sense that I've been a big fan of Kamandi since I was about 11, and really can't wait to add him to my collection.

2) Wal-Mart has been doing a horrible job with the distribution of the DC Universe line. (see
http://pendragonspost.blogspot.com/2009/05/attention-fanboys-how-to-find-dc.html
) They have only dedicated 1800 of their stores to this line. With a lot of fans missing out on Wave 5 & Wave 10 being another Wal-Mart wave, is there any chance of mattycollector.com re-releasing this figures to meet the demand?
No, the Wal-Mart wave will only be available through Wal-Mart retailers.
This disturbs me a little. With about 3200 Wal-Marts in North America, only 1800 are committed to carry wave 10. Could be scalperific.

3) Will Mattel be making a full line of characters sculpted to resemble the classic Master of the Universe figures including 200x characters, or will Mattel be mixing in figures that are sculpted to fit in with the 200x line?
We won’t be doing a separate line of 200X styled figures but will look at this line for inspiration when designing characters. We will also look at re-releasing some A-level character in a more 200X style, especially if that figure’s 200X design is radically different from the vintage look.
Veeery interesting. I wondered how this would be handled, because some of the characters look very similar, ( HE-MAN, MAN-AT-ARMS, SKELETOR ) while others are quite different ( ZODAK, BUZZ-OFF, teenage PRINCE ADAM ).
Also, it sucks about DCUC and WALMART.

No doubt it will be a problem.
Mattel obviously has no control over what Wally does -- and it appears that they need to give Wally exclusives just to get the half-assed participation they currently have.
That said -- maybe they could push Wal-Mart to make these available online -- or at least have Wal-Mart provide a list of which stores will be getting them?

I don't know if this is much of a salve, but I'm told there are no Wally exclusives in 2010.
But yeah, that info doesn't help get me a Joker.

So if we're gonna see the next three waves at SDCC, that's 21 regular figures and 3 cnc figures right. We'll probably see atleast the next matty 2-pack after the Wonder Twins. Damn that's exciting. Do the number of figures we've had confirmed or rumored come up to 21?

No.
The only "major" rumors have been wave 11 (John Stewart, et al) and a couple of others that might be in wave 10 or 12, depending on who you ask.

Here's my question for a future Ask Mattie, though this may not be the thread for it...
Can you tell us a little bit about the DC Universe Classics Design process? Do you rely on the comics themselves as source material for character designs, or turnarounds from DC? Both? for example, there are at least 3 incarnations of Commander Steel in the comics for example (Commander Steel, Steel, and Citizen Steel). How did you decide on the World War 2 era Commander Steel from the All-Star Squadron?

Reading the DCnU is like trying to shit a brick. It's agonizing. While I'm one of the few people around here who thought there might be some actual merit in a relaunch, the execution has been just that, an execution.

From HALL OF JUSTICE...
3. Even though there were only seven Justice Lord characters on the cartoon, Has Mattel considered making Justice Lord figures beyond those seven (like Dr. Fate, Starman, Dr. Light ect…)?
Has Mattel considered making the Justice Lords in the DCUC line? If they were in one wave, that would be one heck of an assortment wave.
This would be cool but it is not something we are doing in the immediate future. We are doing an Alex Luthor and Ultraman 2 pack available only on MattyCollector.com!
Oh Jesus, I have waiting about four fucking days to say this, but:
This guy is a total fucking douchebag.
Phew, that felt better. Seriously, what a fucking shithead. Like Hate says, all the fucking characters, and he wants JLU sorta-Crime Syndicate but not? All their costumes follow the same pattern anyway. And MORE characters, made up just for the line, of Dr. Fate in black with lines round his boots or whatever? SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP.

I can even tolerate flavor-of-the-minute requests slighty more than people whose only frame of reference is one cartoon, even if its a good cartoon.
I should add, the Justice Lords requests also smack of sniveling ass kissy-ness. "See Mattel? I'm saving YOU money! All you have to do is paint Superman, Batman, etc. in all black! And I'll just eat it up like a good lapdog! Justice Lords! Yum!"
Exactly. What a dickface.

Also, to our questions, seems I need to be asking next time whether the second Wildcat variant is still in play.
