My mother calls me the other day from Toys Bakwards'R' Us aka Giraffe World, to ask me what games my boys have. Struggling with the generation gap, I calmly ask my mother to start naming off games she thinks my boys might want for Christmas. When she runs across Justice League, I mention that would be a great gift for me... she laughs. Again with the gap...

When I get it for X-Mas, I'll guide you through.

Thanks, Squirrel.  With a little luck I might be able to blunder forward a few more levels.   Grin

So far I've gotten to the third hero pair, Flash & GL, just having some trouble trying to get out of a warehouse with a shitload of critters in it.

The other half bought this for me with the intention that I could (sigh) "play Wonder Woman," and I think he's disappointed I haven't gotten that far yet.  I don't have the heart to tell him my fave character so far is Superman, 'cause he's the most powerful and durable.

It's a pretty good game, I think...I don't feel totally outclassed, and I like the graphics.

We started it last night, and as good as the Marvel one is, to the point that MUA probably IS a better game, there's a bigger thrill fo rme to play the JLA. Also, the dialogue isn't as corny.

We're currently on the second level, with Martian Manhunter and Zatanna. I wanna get into the unlockable outfits though. And it takes a bit of getting used to with it not being Conroy, Newburn, Rosenbaum and co. as the voices.

That pretty much describes how I thought I would feel about it.  Every source I've read has MUA as the better game, but I think for me the bigger thrill would be playing the JLA.

Yeah, MUA is better as a game, as far as I can see, but you just can't underrate the attachment to the DC characters.

Without having played it, in these types of games you often can unlock different uniforms or even characters as you amass achievements.  I'm pretty sure that the E-2 Superman is in there, as well as other looks for the characters.  I'm pretty sure you can "unlock" Hal Jordan and use him in lieu of John Stewart.

Squirrel: Yep, it's pretty good. The one thing I haven't worked out yet is how the fuck you keep your boosts. I'm on the Queen Bee level, and power myself up, but when she kills me, my boosts have to be put on again, which is dumb, time consuming and boring. I'm hoping that I'll get a chance to keep them permanent.

Joe: Those golden shields you collect buy the characters and costumes. Check your hero menu.

Thanks, John.  I explored the character menu long enough to discover "power-ups," but I still can't vanquish The Key, who stands between me and my next adventure.  They gave the character a real fey voice, and it's very annoying getting beaten repeatedly by such a wimpy-sounding fucker.

I was surprised to see Queen Bee!  There's a Bronze Era DCU villain, if ever there was one.

I just powered up Flash and Green Lantern, beat the fuck out of Marilyn "The Key" Manson until I ran out of energy, then let my energy build up while I freed the scientists'; then ran around and battered him, eventually if you don't like those crabs overwhelm you, you'll beat him.

Next you get to play Wondy and Zatanna, and the lasso spin is pretty cool. I unlocked Zatanna's Perez outfit too; the alternate outfits show up next "map". I can't keep the boosts if I die, but once the level is completed they still have them next time they're played. But now I've figured it I offically love this game, but I wanna play characters I picked, not what they told me to play...

This is gonna sound like a dumb question, but how did you free the scientists ?  The minute this level opens, Miss Manson starts shooting, and I start fighting back.  I tried hanging out near the scientist by the doors, but at some point I get driven away, and it seems that he disappears when I get back.  I've tried wearing The Key down as well, but I always get a "mission failed" message before I can cream the bitch.
