I never did get around to playing this game so I traded it in (for what I bought it for with bonuses. Whoot!) and pre-ordered the game of the year addition since it will have all the DLC for a total of $50.

I've just completed this and I've gotta say MEH.
Despite the glowing reviews, this is actually boring as fuck.

Think of an extended Challenge map with a wafer thin story and you won't be far off.

It is kinda of fun switching between Robin and Batman, but there's nothing much to do except beat thugs.

You can only run around a very small part of Arkham City and mostly in the Sionis foundry.

No Predator bits (my favourite part), no secrets to scan, no surprise cameos, very little detective work and as far as I could see only one (possible) Easter Egg.

Okay, so it was only around six quid, but still.

I wish more developers would take proper advantage of DLC.

Rockstar have given us two enormous add-on's to GTA 4, A whole Zombie mission pack with RDR and a shit ton of new cases with L.A Noire.

Sure, they're more expensive, but I'll happily pay £15 for something with substance.

I'll check this out when I get back home in a few weeks. Sad to see it wasn't as cool as expected, hey J can you actually switch between Batman and Robin whenever you want? or is it like part of the plot?

Part of the plot.

And no, you can't play as Robin anywhere outside the area they give you.
The add-on is a standalone selection.

That's why the WiiU controller will suck. Having the map built in is handy and convenient. Having to use it to find evidence is a cute trick that will get old and cumbersome after the initial novelty wears off.

And here we go:

'Batman: Arkham City' follow-up to be a Silver Age prequel

The yet-to-be-announced follow-up to 2011's Batman: Arkham City will be a prequel based on the Silver Age of DC's comic books from the 1950s during which the titular hero teamed up with the likes of Superman and founded the Justice League of America, Variety reports.

According to the publication, the Rocksteady Studios title will revolve around Batman's first meeting with the Joker.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is also expected to reteam a number of DC characters through the title in some form, as part of a push to get audiences used to seeing the superheroes in media outside of film. The game, which WBIE declined to comment about, will likely hit during 2013, Variety reports.

This comes as part of a mandate by Time Warner to monetize the superheroes through films, games, televised series', and cartoons.

WBIE published Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009, followed by its sequel three years later. Its sequel sold 2 million units worldwide in its first week, and reached 6 million within its first month.

Sounds good to me, but I still want more from the Arkhamverse.
