Dozy, yet checkin your local hardware store for a nail/tack puller. Looks like a screwdriver with a small claw on the end. I use a hairdryer for heat, turn the head backwards & pop em easy as pie. Using the claw, you're only puttin pressure on the head so it works every time. Lots of uses for that dude when customizing.

This is a bit off-topic, but this is a customizer's thread -- Does anyone know which thread the Castle Greyskull project was on?

It's in Xander's thread. There are also a couple in the MOTUC thread in Little Green Men.

No customizer should be without one. Smiley

Forced to change shirt.

Doc:

I'm looking to customise my 13" Batmen into a JSA Batman. I was gonna use the black, MA Batman at first, but he has the Jim Lee glove scallops. So I'm going with the blue, BA Batman. All I need to do is swap the bodysuits over, giving me a blue Batman with the yellow belt and a black bat insignia, and a black Batman with a yellow oval, much like the five pack.

My questions - Can I remove the belts safely? How? I've not even tried yet.
Just in case - how do you headswap the 13"? Boil and pop?

Thanks in advance!

I've not tried customizing the 13" line because of the $$$ that I would find myself in need of.

I started looking at the MA Batman-- the boots looked like the came off and Batman is wearing stirrup pants.

The MA belt didn't have an obvious release, but it does have a seam in the back.  I think you could re-glue there if you had to.

The alternative would be to get more directly at what you want: An all-black JSA Batman?  If the only thing that's giving you problems is the glove scallops, you might want to consider making new ones.

You could trace the BA Batman scallops onto a piece of paper, or draw ones that you prefer.  Then, place the front plastic of a DCUC figure shell over your pattern and cut.  Spray those guys black and they could be glued in place.

Possibly. Not being a customiser I wanted to minimise the trouble though.

Also, I have a struggle in that I KNOW JSA Batman wore black, yet the blue looks "right". Grin

I think regluing the belt seems do-able.

I'll take a proper look at it tonight. It might be more trouble than it's worth. Grin

Thanks!

After, baby.  Decals go best on a shiny surface.

That makes sense. I've got spray for the actual print-out, pre-application.
