So this is worth a read.  Emiliano was my favorite part of He-Man.org. . . maybe I'll bounce back to being a .Org hater like some of you.

Geez... that really sucks.  Angry

MOTU is one fucked up property.  Sometimes, I'm actually embarrassed that I like it.

Eh, the property's fine for what it is. The hardcore fandom, on the other hand... well, as a wise man once said:

I truely believe that Mattel actually askes the admins of certain forums to remove those who speak out against them.  Its truely unbelievable.

HEY MATTEL ASSHOLES!!  I got news for ya.  There will ALWAYS be someone typing SOMEWHERE about how you fuck up.  You give them so many juicy oppurtunities all the fucking time.

Idiots!

But fuck the org anyway.   Razz  I still don't believe that many people have email addresses they pay for.   laugh

Well, I broke down and ordered the Wind Raider. Really can't afford it, but damn is it a nifty looking toy. Curses on Noisy and Michael Crawford for doing such great reviews and convincing me to spend the grocery money on a hunk of plastic! Curses, I say!

Mattel doesn't like criticism on their OWN forums. Many have said that the mods will censor you away if you say bad or negative things about the product.

I personally think Mattel can't handle Emiliano undermining them in almost every way. Storywise, history-wise, art-wise, even toy design-wise, as seen with the Sorceress' wings--if Mattel came up with it, Emiliano could do it better. An example of how they butt heads is when Toyguru mentioned that Hordak was created for MOTU in Hordak's blog entry and that he confirmed it with the original creator, but Emiliano corrected him by saying that Hordak was original created for POP and that TG really has no contact or connections to the original creators. TG has been silent on the topic since.

Did anyone read MOTU #1 from DC this week?

I flicked through it in the shop today and it's pretty good (I'm not a Masters fan, so take that as you will).

I bought a digital copy.  It was just OK. I hated the art and the story just felt very small.  He-Man only appears in one short dream sequence and all we saw of Eternia was a boring forest.  Even if Adam is being manipulated, I still want Eternia to look grand and FEEL grand.  It might work OK once the whole series is out but I hate when a first issue doesn't work as its own great start to a series.

What's the story on this guy?  I'd like to know more.

...To keep it really brief & basic, He was a big MOTU fan, historian, & a professional artist that helped get He-Man.Org up and going, so to speak.  Then when the 200X reboot happened, Mattel approached him and Val Staples (the other guy that actually owns & runs the site) to do the licensed comic for it.  Some still rather vague bad blood occured between the guys in charge of MOTU at Mattel at the time and Val & Emiliano, mostly seeming to revolve around Mattel's backhanded restrictions in regard to the stories that could be told, and the characters that could be used.  Whatever the exact specifics were, by the time MOTUC came around, Val & the .Org were then rather tenuously trying to re-establish a rapport with the guys who were NOW in charge of MOTU at Mattel.  Tongue  I can't even begin to imagine what could have possibly caused Val to seemingly "turn" on Emiliano after all these years, but I guess it had something to do with him expressing his opinions often and semi-negatively in reference to MOTUC and by who and how it's being run...  From Val's "editorial" the other day, it seems like it was a silent "shut this guy up or else" mandate from Mattel... confused
