is that masked Man...

« on: April 28, 2008, 06:25:15 AM »

Because he is one of the most awesome men ever to breath the air of freedom, Mr. G. has consented to sit down with me in Bristol and have a little chat.

Naturally, I'll be mostly talking about the Watchmen Movie with him and should have the video interview uploaded on Sunday 11th May for your perusal.

But is there anything that you have ever wanted to know from Dave? Any questions that you want to put to him? It could be anything from Why doesn't he sport the mullet anymore to what was he doing with a mullet anyway as a Mod?

Ask it here and I'll try and squeeze it in. Again, this is all time dependent. I have a big list of shit that I want to chat to him about before I get round to your questions.

PS - I'm also gonna ask him to do a 'Welcome to Criticalmess' type thing for the front page.

A very, very big thank you to Dave Gibbons for agreeing to this.

Fuck, I didn't even see this.  THis is monumental.  Thanks to both of you guys.

I've got a question in here somewhere about GLC, and how that was forcibly tied into the Sinestro Corps, and really thrown off the vibe since.  Let me think how I want to phrase it.

Abs, use this only if you think it's OK.  Ask him whether he still keeps in touch with Alan Moore or not.  I got the impression they had some sort of falling out.  If this is too touchy a question, by all means, abort.

That's sort of one of my points already listed, that as he had a trip to the set and was blown away if he conveyed this to Alan and what his reaction was.

He does 1950s style Batman really nice. Would he do that on a regular basis if DC ever asked him? He seems to enjoy it.

What did he think of his writing experience on GL Corps?  Does he want to do more of that, and if so under what circumstances?  Did he enjoy writing in a tight editorial environment like DC is now, or would he rather do his own thing?

Not many fans get to ever really live their dream of working in comics, but not only did Gibbons he also got to work on a book he was a fan of, Dan Dare. What was it like working on something he was a fan of? Was it harder working on something like that as opposed to something he might not have been so fond of?
