Meh. They're both shit. I prefer the Adam West flick. - 4 (16%)
Shumacher is slightly better. I loves me some "Ice to see you!". What a gem of a line! - 0 (0%)
Burton is shit. All he's got on Joel is hype. One-trick pony. And what's with all that NBX merchandising? Also: Jesus. Them Batfilms are no plot spectaculars. Schmoomacher rules! - 0 (0%)

The Nolan movies were what I was dreaming of all along. I just pretend that's all there is, and the first four movies not only didn't happen...they don't exist.

In my video library this is the case, just like the first Jaws is the only one that happened, there was just the first Highlander movie, and only the first two Alien movies were ever made. The story stops there for those franchises for me. Who knows how I'll feel about whatever series replaces the Nolan run down the line.

Think on this.

Without Burton Batman, there would be no Nolan Batman.
No X-Men, no Blade, No Marvel stuff.

Burton's movie made shitloads and without it, it would have been much harder to covince Hollywood that it was worth investing in more super-hero flicks.

And before anybody says Donner Superman, look how long it was between that and Batman..

Plus, I'll take over the top, amazing looking & stylish Burton over humourless Joker, body armoured Chicago Bats anyday.
Especially when forced, shitty moral choices come into it..ughh.

Blade sucks ass. Those movies should have been straight to DVD. And only the first two X Men movies were any good.

Elfman's score on the first flick was fantastic.

And, knock what you will, without Burton's Batman, we wouldn't have had the stylized universe of B:TAS.

I am and I did.
Style counts a lot for me in a visual medium.

Just because you like growly, body armoured, can't be arsed to build unique sets Batman, doesn't mean I think it's all that.

Joker being a humourless schizophrenic versus a psychotic clown doesn't sit well with me and you cannot tell me that bombs on the boats thing wasn't just embarrassingly "beat you over the head" for an audience who can't deal with subtlety.

I like the Nolanverse, but I love the Burton verse.

If I want to see a totally serious, humourless, real world vigilante flick, I have films like Death Wish.

I've really enjoyed the Nolan Bat movies, but I'm not sad at all that this will be the last one.  In fact not really all that jazzed about the new one coming.  I want a Batman that can co-exist with other heroes paving the way for a JLA movie.

Incredibly, I am allowed to like something that you also like.
The Super-friends still suck like a Grangetown slapper trying to make rent though.

And here we were just about to fall in love!

I will say I just watched it a couple weeks ago for the first time in a loooong time (I think to fully test my fervor over the Hot Toys Keaton) and I have to say it ... didn't hold up. It kind of made me sad. The thing is edited so poorly, the prime example being the part where Jack is about to pop a cap in Eckhart's ass, the way he slowly, slowly cocks the trigger, giving Bats enough time to swing in there, just kills the suspense. Still a defining film for the very reasons you mention, but a bit of a let down.

Maybe it's just a sign that the even faster pace of today's flicks has seeped into my psyche. Maybe not.
