Hey, Rocko! Welcome! I enjoyed your Luthor article.

Cool that you started your own label. I'm way into music myself, [basically most shit from doo-wop, early r'n'r and stuff like Roy orbison through to the Britbands like the Who [my big favourites], The Stones and the Beatles [my second and third] and West Coast harmony pop, then into early metal, [going right through to the early 90s on that] and also Americana and stuff like Tom Waits.]

I dig Golden and Bronze Age stuff. The JSA is my big thing however. Those characters encompass it all for me.
Modern guys I dig writingwise are Morrison and Johns and artguys are Alex Toth-alikes like Mike Lark, Peter Snejbjerg, plus Mike Allred, who is just about the King of Cool.

Great introduction man....although I think it would have been more succint to state: Hello my name is Rocko and I'm an alchoholic.

Like you, I think Larry David is a comedy god and I also hate everyone associated with the Jimmy Kimmel mafia. He's not funny. Adam Carolla is not funny and Sarah Silverman is not funny for fucking him (Jimmy Kimmel, not Adam Carolla). That's actually kind of sad. Other people that are funny are Dane Cook before he got famous, Sam Kinneson who is still more funny than most living people. Kids in the Hall is comedy gold and Mad TV is funnier than SNL by a good mile or so. I lament on a weekly basis, the fact that standup comedy has left the social conscious.

I like listening to music, but not dissecting it like you and Johnny M do. If I wanted to be into music that much I would have started my own supergroup. Actually that is on my top ten list of things to do before I die. Unfortunately learning a musical instrument is not, so you can see my conundrum.

I love comics and toys, but gave them up to have sex with women. Now that I am married and no longer have sex, I am back to comics and toys. It's neat how life comes full circle isn't it? In hindsight, maybe it would have been better to just stick with comics and toys, I would have a more valuable collection.

Comics I enjoy reading now are Batman (he's finally back), JSA, Shadowpact, All Star Superman, Ultimates, Civil War (I know, I'm surprised too) Conan among others. My favorite creators are Mark Millar, Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns. My favorite pencillers are McNiven and Pascual Ferry. My dream comic would be Grant Morrison on the Fourth World stuff. He could pick up right after Kirby and ignore most of the crap that came after that....much like Singer did when he excised Superman III and IV from canon.

My talent, my claim to fame if you will, is that I am proficient at nothing. There is nothing that I am good at. Think about how hard that is for a second. Even retarded kids win gold medals.

With regards to the Doosh, I'm kind of surprised that Trans (Tranny, as we affectionately call him. Although we did not know that he used the moniker Transgojoebot until just now) didn't bring you by there. You actually seem just the sort that would fit in well over there. And that's not a knock or anything. Usually the guys that thrive there are the witty, sarcastic sort that have good knowlege of pop-culture. John, Alex and myself frequented the place regularly, but not so much anymore. But that is a story for another day. For the most part it's a great group of guys over there.

Well since the only Rocko I knew up until a few days ago was the dog from the Rocko's Modern Life cartoon I don't know that you can pin this one on me. Of course it was always my intention that you invite him (the cartoon character), but I never got around to bringing it up. Had I mentioned it, it's quite possible that you would have invited Rocko1978 by mistake. So I guess in a way it is my fault. Oops

As this seems to be an introduction thread, I'll continue it in that vain.

As I think most of you know I'm John M's other half, I to love and live by music mainly bands like the Stones, Who, Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Dead, Zep... etc.
I work as a beauty therapist and makeup artist but at the moment I'm taking time out due to J.D. but do intend to go freelance at the end of the year.
I love Bronze age comics, and the New Teen Titans is my favourite comic ever... (still reading them so please no spoilers.) As for modern comics I buy very little just Legion, I'm always suprised how little text there is in modern comics and how they stretch story lines over 6 months which could have been told in 3 issues. I give a comic till issue 10 if it's not doing it for me it's dropped.

And as we are also mentioning cool outer garments mine is an original 1969 purple suede jacket that I picked up in London for 30 pounds. trippy
