I also liked:
Nrama
: But Dan DiDio or Bob Harras didn't come to you and task you with reintroducing all the New Gods in 2013. It's not that kind of "event" type thing.
Azzarello
: Oh, hell no. Hell, no. No. No, this is my idea.

In truth it's not a bad idea for a storyline. Both warriors. Lots of "Daddy issues". "New" vs "Old" Gods. And maybe explore the connection between the two. Azz might be onto something.

Well he also hinted that Wonder Woman may be the doorway for all mythology in the DCU so we may be seeing other pantheons as well

If Azzarello is trying to set himself up to launch a New Gods title, I'd be cool with that. I really like his modern spin on the Greek gods.

my interest in this just went up 100% after reading the quotes you guys have posted from that interview, which I haven't even read yet.
I don't think I mind too much at this point what's done with the New Gods. I mean, I'd rather it not be shit, but Kirby finished his story as far as I'm concerned. The real deal started and finished.

I think Moulton implied that, off and on.

Yep, that's exactly where I am. The actual story of the Fourth World was told by Jack and finished, which is better than a lot of work-for-hire creations get. There's no harm in DC kicking the characters around as IPs any more or less than Batman, Superman, Charlton Action Heroes, Watchmen, etc.
My only hope is that someone do something entertaining and creative with any character, especially something so personally identified with one creator like the New Gods. If any new material doesn't suck, that's a nice bonus, but it doesn't diminish the original works in any way.

They should get Stan Lee to tell the last stories of all his characters the way they would've been by now had they aged.

One better: a Stan Lee/Steve Ditko Last Spider-Man story done as if Spidey had aged in real time, with flashbacks to all the periods in his life though the decades. What kills me is that
this could still happen
... if only Ditko wasn't so damn
Ditko-y

Not to call you out Rocko, but to point out an inconsistency....
I found the above ironic considering your arguments around Before Watchmen.

I'll probably buy this series in trade one day, as I've enjoyed what I've browsed in the shop. That said, it'll be years down the road, as there is plenty for me to enjoy for now without supporting nU in any way, shape, or form.
Maybe I'll wait until Didio's last day at DC.

Ditko is so Ditko that it is basically impossible. I would believe that Ditko gave birth to a litter of puppies before I would believe he would work with Stan on Spider-man again.

I'm saying anyone can tell any Orion or Rorschach story that they want with impunity, it's very easy to take or leave.

Fair enough.
Excellent evidence.
Not to call you out, but why the fuck do you repeat yourself all the time?
Just joking.
