I MARCH TO WHATEVER DRUM I WANT!

« on: August 02, 2012, 06:10:43 PM »

So I decided I would try out new books, one or two a week.  Well comixology does free books every week.  One of them was a book called "Battle Hymn".  I download the first issue and I liked it, so I think I'm going to get the other four issues released and see how it goes.  It's a book which would be set in the golden age, but with characters with flaws and terrible idiosyncracies.  I know it's nothing super original, but I really liked the interactions from the first issue.  It's only a five issue mini-series back from 2004-5, but it still has me interested.

I'm still reading Earth 2, I can't pull away from it.

I enjoyed Battle Hymn when it came out. Neat little story about a government sponsored team set in WWII. Pretty much based on the Invaders if I recall correctly. It was a grittier look at the people involved with the team, some were outright bastards. The series had GREAT covers too.   Thumb's Up

Glad you liked it, I thought it was fun stuff.

That's a series I always wanted to check out, but it wasn't carried by my LCS. Even looked into order the trade, but it was too low priority with all of the other collections getting released.
