If this isn't the place for such questions, then feel free to move it.
So, I won an auction for 3 Lord of the Rings figures.....since Mattel and Hasbro don't seem to want my money, I figured I'd get some old stuff. So I open Sarumon, and it was.....I don't know.....sticky I guess is the word. Hes got some sort of a film on him. I've never had anything like this happen before.....so the question....what the fuck could POSSIBLY cause this? And how do I get rid of it!
I put him in the freezer, but that doesn't seem to be doing much. So what the fuck do it do?
And please igonore the obvious semen jokes!

Oddly, my box looked as if my mailman had literally fucked it, it was torn open and had a hole in it big enough to stick his wang through, which dented the white mailer box inside.

Mold release? I don't know if it's exactly the same with toys, but with wargaming minis before you paint them you have to wash them because the substance they use to allow them to slide the pieces out of the mold can still be present. I've noticed it on occasion with guns, etc, on GI Joe figures. Just a quick soapy rinse and dry should take care of I would think.

Mold release?
There seems to be a lot more of that with Toybiz stuff, compared to Mattel and Hasbro's stuff. At least in my experience.

Ignore? Here? Really?
Anyhoo....as DF said it could still be a bad case of mold release. fill up the sink with soapy water and give it a good going over with a brush.
The other thing is it could be a combination of the cheap plastic used to make the figure and the way it's been stored since. Did it come from a hot climate?
