My favorite of the guys we insulted that eventually signed up was DangerDrVenture... He kept posting things on FWOOSH and DCDO like "you FOOL! I scrutinize ACTION FIGURE PARTS for a LIVING! I'm a CUSTOMIZER!". The guy talked about customizing with all the pomposity of a guy working on the Manhattan Project deigning to condescend to a Starbucks barrista.
Eventually someone stumbled across his public photo bucket account, where in addition to some cool custom pics, there were some bizarre photos of him trying different variations on a combover to cover that bare beach of a melon of his.
So Of course we posted those brilliant pics, he deleted them from his photo bucket account, but he still stayed awhile after the whole incident.
He'll always be DangerDrCombover to me.

It seems like we're perceived either as the inmates on OZ, or as fops and dandies, with powdered wigs, brandy snifters, and monocles, longing for the Golden and Silver Ages of yore, and for comics to be 10 cents again. |
