I'm trying to abstain from Mojo and the inevitable fight that I feel will resurface as it returns. I would appreciate it if everyone would respect that and not give me any. Thank you.

My mom and I used to watch The Jefferson's when i was a kid.  I loved the show and will always remember the flashback to when MLK was shot.  It was my first exposure to the assassination, this show tackled so many issues that were considered too hot for the time such as racism, interracial marriage and others.  Mr. Hensley may not have been the greatest actor in the world, but no one could have played the part better.

I watched the early seasons of The Jeffersons, but it got kinda lame over time. Still, Hemsely was, without doubt, the star of the show. He was good on Amen as well.

I thought he passed away soon after the woman who played his wife, Weesie, on the show. I saw this thread and thought, "Who ELSE died from The Jeffersons?!?"

Anyway, I'm glad he had a bit longer than I assumed he had. And that was a great show.

That was the guy who played Tom, their honky neighbor.
