Nice to see that 'internal articulation' getting used again.

I guess they'll address the durability of the "skin" on this new line.  Hopefully it's improved over Swampy.  I'm so scared to pose that motherfucker that I stuck him back in his box.

Maybe it's Dick in a Batman costume and Bruce in a Red Robin costume, in order to throw off people who have been suspecting their true identities.

I cancelled my pre-order for this as well. Not ready to say I won't buy them, but I'll take my chances on finding them and decide in person.

Well... that's disappointing.

I've been noticing that the DCUC figures were getting taller, though.

I think the problem is he's got a thick belt, which boosts up the torso considerably.

It's just the way they do things. You'll notice the same effect on the Doom Patrol, for instance, where Cliff is shorter than Negative Man, because Larry has the belt inserted giving him the extra height.

Not excusing it, mind you. This just makes the figure look silly.

Borrowing this from robscott at the Matty forums, where he posted his review:

That pretty much says it all.

After Rocket Red and even Jay Garrick, I don't think this is enough of an issue to get worked up over.

Man, I wish we could have got a big ass Doomsday before the line died.

I would've taken him over Despero, Trigon, Validus or shitty Swamp Thing any day.

I really don't think he would've been that hard to do either. Sad

I agree. My pre-order cancelling was more of out exasperation than anything. I had pre-ordered all four, planning to have them for the site, but I really have no interest in the nU figs and I don't think Red Robin or SB Prime are worth paying a markup for online. I'll probably still buy and review those two if I run across 'em at Walmart.

Certainly if Bane and Darkseid merited an upgrade, so does Doomsy. He's easily the most important undone C'n'C-level character. I still think they missed the boat by not making him the SDCC '12 exclusive, in honour of the 20th Death of Supes anniversary.

I wouldn't trade him for Validus or Trigon though. In fact, most of the CnC's were awesome. Ultra-Humanite's still my favourite, with Chemo and Giganta competing for second. Even Imperiex, which NOBODY asked for, is really nicely done. Looking at all of them, execution-wise I'd say Brimstone was the weakest of all of them, and Nekron's a disappointment because he is scythe-less.

I still think they could've pulled another year of good ones together-- Winged Victory (with swappable bits to double as Comet and Terra-Man's horse), Hec Hammond, Blockbuster, the General, maybe Ace-- or even smaller characters like Metamorpho-- but Doomsday is the gaping hole they really need to get out there before they're completely done.

A nice, oversized Doomsday would be a fine carrot for the Matty subscription stick. Pity the tooling budget is so minuscule.

Red Robin's height looks like it's all in the belt/skirt piece. Hopefully a bit of surgery will help the height, but it sucks that it has to be done at all. Scale fail, Matty.  Sad

Well, looks like DCU is down to one for me then.  Prime.
