Microsoft - Cool concept with the Smart Glass. I think it outshines the potential of the WiiU controller in the added versatility and the fact it will be optional, but was worried it was still going to be a gimmick. But once they showed it as an interface for Internet Explorer which is coming to the 360 I was sold. If it can show me a map of the seven kingdoms while I am watching Game of Thrones, well that's just a neat bonus.
Halo 4 had a great CGI lead in but looked pretty much the same to me. These new guys I am shooting at use the same shield and guns as the old ones? That was really strange. Meh. Not huge on the series and this didn't change that.
Sony - King of the exclusive content. Uncharted made me buy a PS3. The Last of Us looks great and HOLY SHIT did Beyond: Two Souls look great!
The Vita fell flat though and that was a shame. It was sold as a $300 WiiU controller and I am not interested. They're losing the race to second screen gaming right now.
What's old is new again.
Assassin's Creed IIII don't think this will
revolutionize the series (see what I did there?) but it's a really big step forward. I was wondering how the platforming would work and it looks pretty neat in the forrested areas. It's been said that when the US was first forming you could go coast to coast without touching the ground because of the heavily wooded land. This game certainly makes good use of that.
Then there was a ship battle? WHAT THE FUCK? Awesome! That looked really good and I am excited to see what else there could be. It makes it feel like anything could be happening in this game/series. Plus, and JSay will appreciate this, we're going to be a bow wielding mixed race hero named Conner!
Tomb RaiderI dig the new design. This feels like a character and a series that can be taken seriously.
This trailer really got me excited to try this out.

EA Sports' UFCIn a move that may be the beginning of the end for an already rocked THQ, EA landed UFC. A lot of people felt EA's MMA was a better game than the UFC title, but a lot of people never played it because it lacked the star power of the UFC title. This will give us the best of both worlds with MMA being a nice preliminary game for this, the main event.
They say the deal was made just before it was announced but this could lead to some amazing products in addition to the game with EA being more than capable of making some great mobile applications.
This deal stunned me because Dana had some really shitty things to say about the company after they turned him down at first, but they both love money and a partnership will net big prophets for both sides.
Splinter CellThe newest title they showed appealed to me. I ahave always liked Sam Fisher and his stories but can't be bothered with sneaky sneak games. This new one has a fast pace and a gung ho style that appeals to me. I'll be keeping my eyes on this.
What's new is neat.Star Wars: 1313They are saying this is Uncharted meets Star Wars in the underbelly of Coruscant? Hell yes. And they are saying the cut scene is in game graphics so it looks like this will be next gen. Worth. The. Wait.
Beyond: Two SoulsThe makers of the innovative Heavy Rain exploded my brains with the reveal of Beyond: Two Souls. Ellen Page makes it a win already but the story is very compelling and the graphics looked great. I love the way they actually capture the actors using state of the art tech that makes the game more realistic than what we've seen up to this point.
Watch DogsI love the concept, the story looks great, and it's a visual eye hump. I need to see more to see if I am going to be interested based on the slower game play we saw, but it's captured my interest for sure.
Next post will include thoughts on the WiiU and other titles that caught my interest. Lot's of good stuff though for a year that stands between us and new console announcements.
