It's a little too gold, but it's a nice mix of a standard armor (MkVI) and the mobile armor (MkV). I think adding a little more red and it will be great.

I don't think it's fucked personally. The current armor in the comics went more gold than red and I dig it. If anything I'd say the basic design is too similar to the previous ones and it doesn't do enough to stand on its own.

Am I the only one who would love to see Stealth Armour Iron Man in a flick?
I can't find a pic, but the cool Eighties version.

Star News Online
you can see over forty photos of the shoot, and a big thanks to 'Meanz71' for sending us this link!

Robert Downey Jr. Sustains Ankle Injury on
Iron Man 3
Set
by
SuperHeroHype
August 15, 2012
Production on
Iron Man 3
was temporarily halted today due to an on-set injury to the film's leading man. Marvel Studios' official statement on the matter reads as follows:
Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.
Thankfully, the injury sounds to be relatively minor and the delay should be minimal. We'll update as soon as production resumes.
Written and directed by Shane Black (and co-written by Drew Pearce),
Iron Man 3
also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. It is planned to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.

Guy Pearce Calls His
Iron Man 3
Role a Cameo
by
SuperHeroHype
August 30, 2012
In an interview with
Vulture
, actor Guy Pearce mentioned that his role in
Iron Man 3
isn't exactly a co-starring effort. When asked about how filming
Prometheus
and
Iron Man 3
differs from
The Time Machine
, he said:
The main difference was that, when I did The Time Machine, I was pretty much in all of it, so it was a really grueling experience. Prometheus and Iron Man are really kind of cameo stuff, so the experience of shooting them ... I mean, on some level, it's tricky because you feel like a bit of an outsider. You don’t really live the experience that you do when you're there all day every day with everybody. But at the same time, it can be more fun sometimes because you're just working in concentrated spurts.
If the amount of screen time he had in
Prometheus
is an indicator, we can expect him in the Marvel sequel for at least a handful of scenes. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next summer to find out.
Written and directed by Shane Black (and co-written by Drew Pearce),
Iron Man 3
stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. The third installment will hit theaters on May 3, 2013.

Wang Xueqi Joins
Iron Man 3
as Radioactive Man?
by
SuperHeroHype
September 04, 2012
It was rumored a few months ago that Andy Lau would be joining
Iron Man 3
as an ally of Tony Stark, but he quickly backed out of the position. We've learned today from Mtime.com (via
Chinesefilms.cn
) that actor Wang Xueqi will be taking on the role that Lau was circling and there might be more to it than we first thought.
Xueqi will be playing Chen Lu. If you're up on your Iron Man mythology, you will recognize that name as the civilian alias of Radioactive Man. Radioactive Man has worked for the Mandarin on many occasions, who we learned at this year's San Diego Comic-Con will be the primary antagonist in the film. With that in mind, it's not too much of a stretch to think we will see Radioactive Man on the big screen next May.
Wang Xueqi joins the cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton and Rebecca Hall. Shane Black is directing the third installment, scheduled to be released on May 3, 2013.

Filming for
Iron Man 3
Moving to Greater Fort Lauderdale
by
SuperHeroHype
September 12, 2012
With filming winding down in Wilmington, N.C., the
Iron Man 3
production will soon be moving to Florida. Great Fort Lauderdale (via
On Location Vacations
) has announced that the cast and crew will begin arriving on October 1st:
Greater Fort Lauderdale is on the alert for an extraordinary group of visitors from Marvel Studios, including an invincible super hero. Broward County will welcome cast and production crew beginning Oct. 1 for the third and final installment in the solo superhero saga “Iron Man 3.” The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Office of Film & Entertainment announcement of the blockbuster production will include locations in Broward County’s Dania Beach, and other neighboring South Florida communities.
"We have had two very exciting back to back years of major film production in Greater Fort Lauderdale – we rocked with 'Rock of Ages' last summer with Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin. Now we have the marvelous Marvel comic book hero," said Noelle Stevenson, Film Commissioner, Broward Office of Film & Entertainment. The 'Iron Man 3' cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Don Cheadle, and Jon Favreau. "Of significance is that the filmmakers can conveniently shoot a variety of landscapes here, from city skyline to 23 miles of pristine sun-splashed beaches to nature unleashed in the Everglades," Stevenson noted.
Greater Fort Lauderdale's campaign to showcase its production-friendly attributes is paying off with the attraction of millions of dollars of film, TV, commercials, print and music video work. The county provides impressive added value and incentives to keep productions on target and on budget, including no permit fees, dedicated film-friendly hotels and community, professional studio and production offices, and the Preferred Production Pass (P3) which offers special values at area attractions, restaurants and film and entertainment vendors.
Besides the production-friendly attributes, Broward County is known for unique and diverse locations that will set the tone for any movie’s genre. Production companies looking for scenes that capture the Old West or a bright lit downtown skyline or a mountainous scene using the 225-foot high landfill site, Monarch Hill Renewable Energy Park, or an urban tropical island-setting or even the Australian Outback thanks to the Everglades. Greater Fort Lauderdale captures the world's most known locations in one spot.
"These uncommon features are an enormous advantage for production companies who film in Greater Fort Lauderdale," said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. "The money and time saving aspects are all imperative in measuring the success of a film project and it's what keeps our roster of productions growing."
Recent film, TV and music projects in Broward include indie films and features such as "Rock of Ages," Tony Bennett and Sony Music CD Project "Latin Duets," A&E's TV drama "The Glades," USA's "Burn Notice," Starz's "Magic City," ABC's "Charlie's Angels" and VH1's "Tough Love," among others.

New
Iron Man 3
Set Photos Featuring the Iron Patriot and Mark XLVII Armors
by
SuperHeroHype
October 02, 2012
It looks like Robert Downey Jr. has recovered from his ankle injury and has returned to the Miami, Florida set of
Iron Man 3
.
The Daily Mail
has posted photos of the actor on set, including a new look at the Iron Patriot and Mark XLVII armors. The site says:
Filming resumed on Monday in Florida where prop makers built a phony beach-side restaurant called Neptune’s Net, named after a well known fish fry bar in Malibu popular with bikers where the Iron Man films are set.
Despite several rain delays, Downey Jr looked in his element as the ebullient star drew laughs from the cast.
The martial arts loving actor has also been filming many of his own action scenes for the film rather than relying on a double.
Directed by Shane Black, the May 3, 2013 release co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton and Rebecca Hall.
