So I ended up going to C2E2 today after all. The place was crowded but still ok to walk around. Went to the Before Watchmen and Voltron panels then wandered around.

I would write about Before Watchmen but bleedingcool (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/04/14/ce-one-womans-tweets-from-before-watchmen-panel/  http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/04/14/ce-first-looks-at-watchmen-artwork/) has more than enough info, honestly the artwork looked great and overall I felt everyone in the crowd (and in the showroom) is really looking forward to it.

The Voltron panel was ok, though they didnt give any news at all, only to expect a great twist or something with season 1 finale of Voltron Force (which Im not watching so dont care), they showed the finished matty Voltron and it looks impressive.

Got my Gates of Gotham TPB signed by Scott Snyder and Kyle Higgins, both were really cool, I got to talk a few minutes with Kyle Higgins about Nightwing, Havok, and the court of owls. Also got my Joker HC (Azzarello) signed by Lee Bermejo.

Marvel's booth was pretty much a big Avengers movie banner, a big AvX banner and a table for their artists. There was this auction firm who had lots of Captain America movie props so that was cool.

Got to see a few of new Marvel Selects: Storm looks great, Spider man from the movie looks bad, Lizard is BIG, Hulk and Hawkeye look ok and they had a figure from Loki's army:

DC had a lot of people giving away stuff (got a button, a DC Direct catalogue, a shirt and copies of Action 1 and Swamp Thing 1) and a couple of cases showing DC "Entertainment" stuff. Hate to say this but the figures (well everybody but Flash, who has a stupid head) look really good in person (WAY better than in pictures).  Killer Croc from Arkham City is amazing and for some reason Mr Freeze has black armor. The Amecomi Harley Quinn looks great too.

I uploaded some shaky videos of the DCD stuff:

Thanks everybody.

Anyway, I know a girl who knows a guy who got me a Press badge so I ended up going today too. It was kids free day and doors closed at 5 (as opposed to 10 like saturday) so there was less people, but for some reason better costumes.

Pretty much everything was the same but they showed a couple of Thor movie props today along with the Cap ones from yesterday, I was amazed at how cheap and fake the Thor weapons look in person and I actually asked if those were the real deal or just some replicas to show at cons, they told me they were the actual props from the movie (they could be lying I guess).

Brian Azzarello signed my Joker HC and gave me a Wonder Woman 1 that I got signed by both Azzarello and Cliff Chiang. Chiang asked who my favorite character was, I said Nightwing, he grabbed a piece of paper and said "Im not even sure how his new costume looks like" before he started drawing a quick sketch  Grin so that was really cool.

DC kept giving away lots of stuff, I got Flash 1, Batgirl 1 and Batman 1 (second print), as well as a cool newspaper/poster thing from Before Watchmen.

When I was on my way out I saw Gail Simone signing at DC's booth and the line was minimal so I had the copy of Batgirl they gave me signed by her. Lets just say Simone was not entirely nice: the guy in front of me was a total fanboy and was telling her how much he loves everything she writes, she didnt even look up at him so that was pretty weak. It was late and my guess is she had been signing for a couple of hours though.

I was able to spot an advance Dark Knight Rises poster that looked amazing (not at DC's booth, a retailer had it).

I also was able to attend the Marvel "next big thing" panel, which was pretty weak. They talked about how nothing will be the same (yes, they actually said that  Roll Eyes ) after the next couple of issues of Thor and how Thor and Loki will be betrayed by someone close to them. They also said they're gonna put Wolverine through probably his hardest missions and how Cap will be teaming up with Hawkeye for a while, they said "these are 2 guys without superpowers but they will need superpowers to get out of what theyre gonna face" I guess super soldier serum is not considered superpowers?

Anyway, then they confirmed the new Gambit ongoing, showed the cover to number 1 (and hinted to expect a shitload of variants), they said Gambit was going to be "sexy", that they are writing this to be a starting point for 90s Xmen fans, as well as new and old Gambit fans, and how they are gonna play up his past as a thief (they confirmed we will see Bella Donna sooner rather than later). So yeah, overall pretty weak Marvel panel.

Sweet! Thanks for the reports!

BTW, I've met Gail Simone twice and both times she's been very pleasant and accomodating. Maybe she was just having a bad day.

Yeah, I wouldn't take it personally, Gail was nice both times I met her. I would chalk it up to being at the end of a long day.

Point for the heads up and link GG.  Thumb's Up
I think Hulk, Nightcrawler, Storm and Ultron turned out good.
Interested in some of the minimates (cherry picker on that line for sure).
Wish like hell we'd get a classic Iron Man, Vision, Black Panther and Scarlet Witch to go with our Cap, Hawkeye, Thor and Hulk.  Grin
