William Sadler in Iron Man 3?

by SuperHeroHype

May 25, 2012

At this point, it should be a no-brainer that Latino Review may have a spy or two on the Wilmington, North Carolina set of Shane Black's Iron Man 3, because they're now reporting that actor William Sadler has joined the cast in an undisclosed role, having spotted him during a costume fitting with Guy Pearce.

Sadler is an over-30-year veteran character actor who has appeared in many great movies including Frank Darabont's movies The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Mist, as well as Die Hard 2. Recently, he's appeared on the CBS show "Hawaii Five-O" and in the HBO mini-series "The Pacific," but he's a busy actor who turns up in a wide array of projects.

We can probably make a lot of wild guesses who he might be playing--possibly someone who has a connection to Pearce's Aldrich Killian?--but it may be a smaller role than the previously announced casting of James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton as  Coldblood-7 and Firepower or Sir Ben Kingsley in the unnamed main villain role. We can't imagine Sadler is playing a fourth baddie, but who knows?

Iron Man 3 is scheduled for May 3, 2013, and maybe we'll have a few more answers before then...

Stallone and Schwarzenegger Talk Action-Thriller The Tomb

Source: ComingSoon

May 25, 2012

Entertainment Tonight visited the set of Summit's action-thriller The Tomb and spoke with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. You can check out what they had to say about the project using the player below!

The Mikael Håfströmd-directed film follows Ray Breslin (Stallone), the world's foremost authority on structural security. He's analyzed nearly every high security prison. After being framed by persons unknown, all of Breslin's ingenuity and expertise are about to be put to work in the most challenging test he's ever faced: escaping from a high-tech prison facility that's design is based on his own protocols.

Schwarzenegger plays Emil Rottmayer, a complex inmate with multiple shades of gray. He's the guy who fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity in their darkest hour as they struggle together to stay alive.

Another Thomas Harris Series is on the Way with Clarice

Source: ComingSoon

May 25, 2012

While NBC is gearing up for a full season of "Hannibal", based on Thomas Harris' famous fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter, Lifetime is now said to be moving forward with their own series based on one of the author's creations. TV Guide reports that the network is developing "Clarice", based on the central protagonist of The Silence of the Lambs, FBI Agent Clarice Starling.

"Clarice", which is wholly separate production from "Hannibal", will focus on a young Starling and her adventures fresh of out the FBI Academy.

Clarice Starling is best known through the portrayal that Jodi Foster gave in 1991's feature adaptation of The Silence of the Lambs. The role was later played by Julianne Moore in Ridley Scott's cinematic followup, Hannibal in 2001.

Anchor Bay Announces The Walking Dead Season 2 Blu-ray/DVD

by ShockTillYouDrop

May 25, 2012

Anchor Bay Entertainment is bringing The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season to DVD and Blu-ray on August 28th.  Here's the lowdown, direct from our pals at AB:

A truly unique and very limited edition zombie head case created and designed by McFarlane Toys will also be available as Blu-ray™ only for a SRP of $99.99.  Pre-book is August 1st.  The 4-Disc sets will contain all 13 episodes of the second season and will be loaded with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, featurettes and audio commentaries.

The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season is the much anticipated next chapter to the acclaimed post zombie apocalypse series. When we last left the “The Walking Dead,” the characters were in the midst of a high-intensity struggle to survive, fleeing the CDC as it burst into flames. In Season 2, they are still fighting zombies, and each other, facing more threats and obstacles than ever before.

Based on the hugely successful and popular comic books, written by Robert Kirkman, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” captures the ongoing human drama after a zombie apocalypse. The series follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually), who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. However, instead of the zombies, it’s the living who still remain that may be the biggest threat. Jon Bernthal (Rampart) plays Shane Walsh, Rick's sheriff's department partner before the apocalypse, and Sarah Wayne Callies (“Prison Break”), is Rick's wife, Lori. The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season cast also includes Laurie Holden (Fantastic Four), Steven Yeun (My Name is Jerry), Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints), Jeffrey DeMunn (The Shawshank Redemption), Chandler Riggs (Get Low), Iron E. Singleton (Seeking Justice) and Melissa McBride (The Mist). Guest stars for the second season include Lauren Cohan (“Chuck”), Scott Wilson (Monster) and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Constantine).

“The Walking Dead” is a hit with both audiences and critics.  The first season won the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or Special and was nominated for Emmys® in Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series and Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series. Season 1 also garnered a Golden Globe® nomination for Best Television Series - Drama, and was named to the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Top 10 Programs of the Year (2010), among other accolades.

Season 3 of “The Walking Dead” premieres on AMC in October.

Shadow People Haunt Anchor Bay Entertainment

by ShockTillYouDrop

May 25, 2012

According to THR, Anchor Bay has picked up the supernatural thriller Shadow People, directed by Matthew Arnold.

Darclight Films describes the completed project as "a psychological-thriller that explores the rare medical phenomenon known as SUNDS (Sudden Unexplained Nocturnal Death Syndrome). Millions of people across the globe have had encounters with what they describe as dark, shadowy creatures that visit them at night.

Sometimes horrifying, sometimes deadly, these nocturnal intruders have been described as early as man's first recorded writings. But what are they? And what do they want?"

Small town radio personality Charlie Crowe (Dallas Roberts) is thrust into the mystery when a strange caller relates a terrifying experience during Crowe's late night call-in show. At the same time, CDC Public Health Agent, Sophie Lancombe (Alison Eastwood), is hot on the trail of the cause of the rare medical condition known as SUNDS. Her investigations entwine her with Charlie's own discoveries and take them both into a dark world and a decades old cover-up about the phenomenon we now call, The Shadow People.

Stay tuned for release date news...

Avengers Crosses $500M Domestically; MIB3 Hits $202M Worldwide

by SuperHeroHype

May 27, 2012

After a lengthy run as the #1 movie at the box office, Marvel's The Avengers will finally give up that spot to Sony's Men in Black 3, but Walt Disney Pictures announced today that the global blockbuster has crossed the $500 million mark domestically in a record 23 days (the previous record of 32 days was held by Avatar), making it only the fourth movie in history to cross that mark. "The Avengers" is currently the #4 film of all time globally with $1.295 billion and trails only Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 ($1.328 billion), Titanic ($2.185 billion) and Avatar ($2.782 billion). The film added $37 million domestically for the three days and is expected to take in $47.1 million for the four-day holiday. Internationally, it added $26.3 million for the Friday-to-Sunday period. "The Avengers" has earned $513.7 million domestically (#4 of all time) and $781.6 million overseas (#5 of all time). The film received an A+ CinemaScore from audiences.

Men in Black 3 began its run with $202 million worldwide for the first few days of release in 106 territories. Of that, an estimated $70 million will come from 4,248 North American theaters during the Memorial Day weekend. The film received a B+ CinemaScore from general audiences and an A- from moviegoers under 18. For the Friday-to-Sunday period, Men in Black 3 took in $55 million, which is ahead of both Men in Black ($51 million) and Men in Black II ($52 million). The film took in $17.925 million on Friday, was up 8% Saturday to $19.445 million, is expected to do $17.630 million today and another estimated $15 million on Monday. IMAX sales contributed approximately $12 million to the worldwide total, which is 20% higher than their previous record for a worldwide memorial day release.

Look for our four-day Memorial Day weekend box office report with final studio estimates for the weekend tomorrow.
