The Real Reason Behind
G.I. Joe 2
's Delay?
by
SuperHeroHype
May 30, 2012
As reported a few days ago,
G.I. Joe: Retaliation
has been bumped from its original release date of June 29th, 2012 to March 29th, 2013.
When pressed for a simple 'Why?' the answer came back that some scenes were going to be reshot using 3D technology, in an effort to capitalize on foreign markets.
But this didn't seem like the right thing to a lot of people and now over at
Deadline
, they're reporting the real reason for the delay.
Warning
: Potential spoilers (but since the movie is being reshot, who knows).
Apparently the film wasn't scoring well with test audiences due to the very early on screen death of Channing Tatum's character Duke and the lack of character development between himself and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson prior to his killing.
Well, if you didn't think that Hollywood ever listened to the public, here is a perfect case of it.

Because that's what all the G.I. Joe fans were asking for. More Channing Tatum.

Iron Man 3
Confirmed to Include Iron Patriot!
by
SuperHeroHype
May 30, 2012
SuperHeroHype has confirmed that Shane Black's
Iron Man 3
will feature the red, white and blue Iron Patriot armor. What is uncertain, however, is exactly who will be wearing it.
The armor made its first appearance in 2009's "Dark Avengers" #1. Following the events of the "Secret Invasion" crossover, Norman Osborn was mistakenly heralded as an American hero and tasked with leading a group of government-sanctioned Avengers. Taking the technology from Stark Industries, Osborn designed his suit to represent the then-recently-deceased Captain America.
Because the character of Osborn is a
Spider-Man
villain and the rights rest at Sony Pictures, it's pretty much a certainty that a different character will be donning the suit in the upcoming film.
Now in production in North Carolina,
Iron Man 3
stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton and Jon Favreau. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
UPDATE
: We have now received the first photos of the costume on set! We can also reveal which actor is underneath the suit which, due to the potential spoiler nature of the information, is discussed at the bottom of this page.
The armor is being worn by James Badge Dale, who plays Eric Savin in the feature film. First announced
earlier this month
, Savin becomes, in the comic books, the cyborg villain Coldbood. At this point it is unknown whether or not we'll see the actor in multiple costumes or if Coldblood and Iron Patriot are being merged into one character.

Daniel Radcliffe Wants to be in a Superhero Movie
by
SuperHeroHype
May 30, 2012
Daniel Radcliffe will always be Harry Potter to almost everyone but he'd like to broaden his horizons and step into the shoes of a superhero.
In an interview with
ShowbizSpy
Radcliffe said, "“There’s not many superheroes left who haven’t been done but I don’t think anyone’s done The Flash yet. That’s one I’d probably have a go at but I don’t have any immediate plans. There are lots of offers around, but I want to do something that I’m really passionate about.”
While I don't see Radcliffe fitting into the red and yellow suit, he just might make a good Booster Gold or Daredevil, maybe even Iron Fist. But since he refers to "offers" being around maybe we'll see him saving people from fires and stopping bank robberies soon enough.
What do you think? Who do you want to see Radcliffe portray?

Goes Viral
by
SuperHeroHype
May 30, 2012
Set to hit theaters this September, Paul W.S. Anderson's
Resident Evil: Retribution
marks the fifth film in the popular video game-inspired film franchise. Always a hit at Comic-Con, Resident Evil looks to be moving into viral marketing terrority with an official website for the
Umbrella Corporation
that, in addition to frequent video appearances by Milla Jovovich's Alice, teases a mobile recruiting tour set to hit San Diego in the near future. The site's in-game press release reads as follows:
Umbrella Corporation, one of the world's leading biotechnology conglomerates, has unleashed a globe-spanning recruiting tour to find the world's greatest minds to make advancements for the betterment of all mankind in the fields of biotechnology and genetic research. The tour kicks off in Cancun, Mexico in April 2012 and ends in Tokyo, Japan in September.
Founded by Ozwell E. Spencer and Edward Ashford, Umbrella Corporation is best known for creating Aqua Cure®, an ointment that rapidly heals open wounds. Utilizing products that are home grown in Raccoon City, Umbrella Corporation has since opened operations around the world and created many life-altering pharmaceutical products including Adravil®, Regenerate® and Return®.
"At Umbrella Corporation, we believe that nothing is impossible", said Christopher Chung, President of world-wide recruiting at Umbrella Corporation. "While we employ some of the world's best scientific minds, we are excited to hit the road and find talent that can help us shape the future of humanity."
To accomplish this unprecedented recruiting tour, a state-of-the-art vehicle has been created that will makes its way from location to location by land and sea. The vehicle is equipped with a fully functional research laboratory that will be manned by famous Umbrella Corporation scientists Dr. Henrik Markarian, Dr. James Safechuck, and Dr. Joshua Golsen.
"What will the world be like tomorrow?" Umbrella Corporation's Chief Operations Officer, Michelleanne Grepo, asks. "Thanks to Umbrella Corporation, 'tomorrow' is no longer a dream, but a reality today."
The tour claims to have already launched in Cancun, Mexico this past April and, while there's no dates listed, Cannes, France and Barcelona, Spain mark the locations of the recent Cannes Film Festival and the upcoming CineEurope.

Beefeater
Though he might make an interesting Kyle or even a decent Atom (Ray Palmer), I can see him as Ted Kord or Scott Free.

Blatty:
Exorcist
Mini-Series Talk is False
by
ShockTillYouDrop
May 30, 2012
Author/screenwriter of
The Exorcist
, William Peter Blatty, has stepped forward to address the buzz of an
Exorcist
mini-series being in development.
The news broke last week, via
Vulture
, that Morgan Creek and
Martha Marcy May Marlene
director Sean Durkin was going to pen a new adaptation of Blatty's novel.
Blatty tells
Bleeding Cool
that's a load b.s. because, well, he owns the rights to the property and Morgan Creek doesn't have the right to develop a show.
Further, "Friedkin and I have a new miniseries remake script that we hope will one day be picked up," he tells the site.
Somewhere someone is in the wrong - either
Vulture
(who may have received false intelligence) or Morgan Creek, who perhaps think the rights belong to them and are anticipating some sort of rights battle. Or maybe Blatty is wrong. Who knows?
The proposed
Exorcist
series did not even have a network home yet, so we're still a bit early out from anything actually happening.
