The Full New Trailer for Pixar's Brave

Source: iTunes Movie Trailers, ComingSoon

April 24, 2012

Disney•Pixar has released the full new trailer for Brave, coming to 3D and 2D theaters on June 22. Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, the animated adventure is voiced by Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane. You can watch the trailer below the synopsis!

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In "Brave," a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

CinemaCon Exclusive: Chris Pine's Jack Ryan to Shoot in September?

Source: ComingSoon

April 24, 2012

At the press line before Paramount's CinemaCon presentation, ComingSoon.net had a chance to talk with superstar producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura about G.I. Joe: Retaliation and before he was whisked away, we quickly asked him about some of the other projects he had in the works including RED 2. One long-in-development he's excited about finally making happen is the Untitled Jack Ryan Project, starring Chris Pine, which he hopes to start shooting in September, presumably with Kenneth Branagh (Thor) who has been in negotiations to direct.

Di Bonaventra's exact optimistic words when talking about the project were:

"I think we're going to go this September. It looks pretty good right now. Not guaranteed but hopefully..."

So for all you Tom Clancy and Jack Ryan fans who have been anxiously awaiting his big screen return for ten years since Ben Affleck played him in The Sum of All Fears, there's definitely a light at the end of the tunnel that maybe we'll see another Jack Ryan movie by 2014. (In the meantime, we're very excited about what Paramount is doing to bring Lee Child's Jack Reacher to the big screen, which you can read more about later today.)

You can also watch the rest of our brief interview with di Bonaventura as well as a recap of some of the G.I. Joe: Retaliation footage we've had a chance to see that's not shown in the new trailer sometime later today.

Watch the Trailer for Hotel Transylvania

Source: ComingSoon

April 24, 2012

Sony Pictures Animation has revealed the domestic trailer for Hotel Transylvania, opening in theaters on September 28 and featuring the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Cee-Lo Green, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon and David Koechner. You can watch the trailer below the synopsis!

Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula's lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free from meddling from the human world. But here's a little known fact about Dracula: he is not only the Prince of Darkness; he is also a dad. Over-protective of his teenage daughter, Mavis, Dracula fabricates tales of elaborate dangers to dissuade her adventurous spirit. As a haven for Mavis, he opens the Hotel Transylvania, where his daughter and some of the world's most famous monsters – Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more – can kick back in safety and peace. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.

Owen Wilson to Face The Coup

Source: ComingSoon

April 24, 2012

Crime Scene Pictures announced today that Owen Wilson (Midnight in Paris, Wedding Crashers) will star in The Coup, which John Erick Dowdle (Devil, Quarantine) will direct from a script he co-wrote with his brother Drew Dowdle.

The film is described as being an intense thriller centered on an American family that moves to Southeast Asia and finds themselves embroiled in a violent coup where rebels mercilessly attack the city.

"We love the relentless energy of the Dowdle Brothers' script – and their vision for dropping Owen in the midst of the chaos is truly inspired," say Crime Scene Pictures partners Adam Ripp and Rob Paris.

Producer Steve Alexander continued: "When I first read the Dowdles' screenplay, I was immediately taken with how strongly it taps into that primal fear which any parent can relate to, when it comes to the safety and protection of their family."

Ripp and Paris are financing and have teamed up with Alexander and Drew Dowdle to produce. Rizal Risjad and Philip Elway will executive produce. Filming will begin in October in Southeast Asia.

Check Out the Trailer for Lawless

Source: ComingSoon

April 24, 2012

The trailer for Lawless is now online, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, and you can check it out in the player below!

Starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman and Mia Wasikowska, the film is directed by John Hillcoat and features a screenplay by Nick Cave, based on the novel "The Wettest County in the World" by Matt Bondurant.

Gangster meets Western in the true story of the freewheelin' Bondurants brothers, bootlegging siblings taking the law into their own hands. This is the story of the rural hard-men that created the big city gangsters. Brazen and fearless, these young rebel brothers helped build the American Dream in this exuberant tale of what was to become crime's first major gold rush.

The youngest brother, Jack, fancies himself the next Al Capone; he dreams of sharp suits, guns, girls and fast cars, no matter the cost. Ambitious and impulsive, he takes the family's small-scale moonshining operation to the big leagues, to impress the gorgeous but off-limits Amish girl, Bertha. The middle brother, Howard, is the brawling muscle – loyal but reckless – never one to turn down a taste of white lightning. And eldest brother, Forrest, reluctantly accepts the changing times with grace and grit, leading the family with strength of character and silent determination against the beginnings of corporate greed. An enigmatic and stunning Maggie comes to town with a hidden past, igniting his passion and almost saving him in the process. As the Bondurants' legend grows, so too does the danger, and it's not long before the brothers must face the consequences of their transgressions, or rewrite the myth and the law themselves.

Lawless hits theaters on August 31st.

Disney•Pixar Announces The Good Dinosaur and Dia de los Muertos Movie

Source: ComingSoon

April 24, 2012

Disney•Pixar has just provided updates on a number of projects at today's CinemaCon presentation:

• First announced last August, the upcoming Bob Peterson dinosaur film now has the title The Good Dinosaur and will be released on May 30, 2014. The film is described as follows:

What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? This hilarious, heartfelt and original tale is directed by Bob Peterson (co-director/writer, “Up;” writer, “Finding Nemo”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles,” “The Iron Giant”).

• Oscar-winning Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich's upcoming project with producer Darla Anderson will be about the holiday of Dia de los Muertos.

From director Lee Unkrich and producer Darla K. Anderson, the filmmaking team behind the Academy Award®-winning "Toy Story 3," comes a wholly original Pixar Animation Studios film that delves into the vibrant holiday of Día de los Muertos.

• The still-untitled Pete Docter film that takes you inside the mind has been pushed from May 30, 2014 to June 19, 2015, and they're still trying to figure out a title for that one. It's describes as follows:

Pixar takes audiences on incredible journeys into extraordinary worlds: from the darkest depths of the ocean to the top of the tepui mountains in South America; from the fictional metropolis of Monstropolis to a futuristic fantasy of outer space. From director Pete Docter (“Up,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and producer Jonas Rivera (“Up”), the inventive new film will take you to a place that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind.

More information is still coming in, so check back as the story develops!

Disney Reveals Early Art for The Muppets 2

Source: ComingSoon

April 24, 2012

As revealed last month, Walt Disney Pictures is moving forward with a sequel to last year's The Muppets. Today, they've revealed through Facebook a piece of early art that you can check out below!

Director James Bobin and writer Nicholas Stoller are set to return behind the camera, though Jason Segel will not be back as the star.

"We kind of felt like we completed Gary's story in the first one," Stoller told ComingSoon.net in an interview posted earlier today, "and he's mostly interested in writing stuff for him to be in, which makes sense, right? He didn't want to go on and write the next one. I was like, 'Do you care if I do it with James?' He's like, 'Of course not.'"
