Roy. A wonderful creation who would probably do better now than ever, if anyone cared.
Baron Winters. One of comics' best series, up there with Sandman, Starman, Y, Preacher.

Ah, you can bitch Scot.
I eventually, due to time constraints, had to stop at ten rounds.

I actually had enough match-up's to do another two weeks of the game, but ultimately felt that having covered most of the big guns, it was time to bow out.

There's a few missing that I would've liked to have included too..

Checked out your list of the hypothetical match-ups that didn't happen -- some neat ones in there (I wonder if JJJ would have beaten Perry White or not).

Since you stated you didn't mind if there was any "post-first round of brackets" commentary -- even welcomed it -- I figured why not?  Most of this popped into my head as I tried to go to sleep tonight, so I climbed out of ned, looked everything up and put this little piece of shit together for you.

I know you're not partial to the first Dark Tower book, but I was still surprised Roland the Gunslinger didn't take on either Jonah Hex or The Man with No Name.  I also would have expected a face-off between both of the lads known as Dennis the Menace, as opposed to only including one of them.

But fuck those guys...

I bow in deference to most Messers' Comic Book IQs, so beyond the few I mentioned yesterday -- I'm not even going to touch any more DC or Marvel guys -- though I can hear Ace the Bat-Hound howling mournfully in the backyard.

Instead, I thought I'd dip a toe in the acetone-spiked pool of animation.

Oh, you certainly had SOME animated characters --but there were many more major 'toons that appeared in comics over the past several decades. And yes, they all appeared in comic books as well.  And some that didn't make the cut -- can only result in a chorus of  "tsk-tsk-tsk", as several of these were pretty heavy hitters (many even iconic) and had comic books based on their adventures for decades to boot.

Mighty Mouse versus Underdog
Tom versus Jerry
Road Runner versus Wile E. Coyote
Rocky versus Bullwinkle
Sylvester versus Tweety
Woody Woodpecker versus Heckle & Jeckle
Felix the Cat versus Josie & the Pussycats
George of the Jungle versus Dudley Do-Right
Mister Magoo versus Charlie Brown -- including Snoopy but NOT the heart & soul of Peanuts?
Gumby versus The Pink Panther

Again, I'm not taking you to task -- as you went WAY above and beyond to put together the main (if not sole) reason I stick around this joint.

Hey Scot.

I welcome comments on this, seriously, I wouldn't have posted the guys who didn't make it if I didn't want to see what people thought.

And do you know what?

I forgot Roland was in a comic...damn.

The fact is that I could have done this forever, I have every comic book hero (loosely defined) ever invented to choose from and yeah, I missed a few real good un's.

The problem is that I wanted to mix it up as much as possible.
I could probably have done a straight Marvel vs DC game and still filled all the slots.

But, adding a few odd-ball's, some of my beloved British characters (fuck that blonde Dennis kid, Desperate Dan is an icon) without going so heavy as to be boring to those who never heard of these guys, European characters and forgotten GA guys was important to me.

I also, being that I'm JSay  angel, tried to get a few jokes in too, wasted slots or good conversation?
That's kinda up to you guys.

But ultimately, you guys have made this real fun and I want to thabk you for taking part.
I loved seeing the responses, whether they be indignant, funny, or just meh (towards the picks).

And we still have the big end game this weekend to look forwards to.
