The Great Comics Face-off game.

This is something I've wanted to do for a long time.
In the vein of the Rock Off, this is going to be a simple (but hopefully entertaining) grand game.
I'm going to face off a whole bunch of characters against each other, until we get to a winner.
I am however going to be focusing on heroes or at least main characters who've fronted their own books.
So for example there will be no Joker*, despite having his own small run on a book, but Deathstroke who is technically a villain might make it in on Anti-hero grounds.
This is going to focus on more than just DC/Marvel too, I aim to get in as many different publishers characters as possible.
To this end, I welcome suggestions later in the game, if anyone feels there's an important omission.
The rules are simple.
Personal preference baby!
Power, popularity, fame..these things mean nothing to a Jedi.
Just vote for your preferred choice.
There's been a fair bit of negativity on this site recently, what with mojo docking and some snideyness, but I hope that we can all have fun with this.
I also (if you'll excuse me for saying this) hope that everyone here will join in andcast their votes, as this is purely comic book related and thus no-one should feel left out.
Also, if this gets a high enough level of participation, I'll set it up as a weekly article, so long as no-one objects.
So, I hope you'll all join in and have fun arguing back and forth.
I'll post the first round later this evening.
As usual all comments are welcome.
*If this goes well, I
could
be persuaded to run a concurrent villain game..

Zorro
is a fictional character created in 1919 by New York-based pulp writer Johnston McCulley. The character has been featured in numerous books, films, television series, and other media.
Zorro (Spanish for "Fox") is the secret identity of Don Diego de la Vega (originally Don Diego Vega), a nobleman and master living in the Spanish colonial era of California. The character has undergone changes through the years, but the typical image of him is a dashing black-clad masked outlaw who defends the people of the land against tyrannical officials and other villains. Not only is he much too cunning and foxlike for the bumbling authorities to catch, but he delights in publicly humiliating those same foes.
VS
Tintin
is a fictional character in The Adventures of Tintin, the series of classic Belgian comic books written and illustrated by Hergé. Tintin is the protagonist of the series, a reporter and adventurer who travels around the world with his dog Snowy
Tintin debuted in Le Petit Vingtième on 10 January 1929. He was largely based on an earlier character created by Hergé, a chubby boy-scout named Totor. The comics starring Totor, Les aventures de Totor, chef de patrouille des Hannetons (The Adventures of Totor, Leader of the Cockchafer Patrol), appeared in the magazine Le Boy-Scout Belge between 1926 and 1929.

Doctor Strange
is a superhero that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was co-created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, and first appeared in Strange Tales #110 (July 1963).
VS
Doctor Fate
is the name of a succession of fictional sorcerers who appear in books published by DC Comics. The original version was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Howard Sherman, and first appeared in More Fun Comics #55 (May 1940). In 1940, the character also became a founding member of the Golden Age superhero group the Justice Society of America.

Aside from not knowing much about Tintin, I have to go with Zorro.
The pointy end goes in the other man.

I like this idea very much and very well said!
That first one is a tough one for me but I'll have to go with
ZORRO!
and
Doctor Fate!

A well-meaning demon,
Hellboy
, was summoned from Hell to Earth as an infant on December 23, 1944 by Nazi occultists (spawning his hatred for them). He was discovered by the Allied Forces; amongst them, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, who formed the United States Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD).
VS
C.I.A agent Albert Simmons was murdered during a mission in Botswana and was sent to hell because of his life as an assassin.
After arranging a deal with the being known as Malebolgia Simmons agrees to become a Hellspawn in exchange for being allowed to see his wife, Wanda Blake, one last time.

Thank you both.
A point to you and to all who play in the first few rounds.
If this takes off I'll set up another thread to keep track of both matches & results.

I'm trying to abstain from Mojo and the inevitable fight that I feel will resurface as it returns. I would appreciate it if everyone would respect that and not give me any. Thank you.

I'd rather read about the flawed life of Dr. Strange, but in a straight-up battle:

Point for you Hyp.
Also, be aware that this game isn't based on power, popularity or anything other than personal preference.
If you prefer Irving Forbush* to Superman, Make Yours Marvel..
*and yes, now Irving Forbush
has
to go in.

Damn Steve Ditko.
Damn him all to hell!
Can you imagine if he had ever done a Dr Fate story?
There would have been no half helmet. Only ... Fate!
