Awesome Pics!

Tales in the tape!  laugh

I luv your pic of the sign, all DC product is clearly available, only non-dc stuff sold out.

Also, luv the guy setting in the chair.  Cry  He's probably thinking "I should have signed up to work the HASBRO booth". HA!

Thanks for sharing.

I think you guys will get a kick out of this.  These two pics were taken at last years SDCC in the booth where Mattel sells their exclusives.  It was early in the afternoon on the second day of the show.

No line.  No one buying anything.  Crickets chirping.  Mattel employees trying to stay awake.

Mattel says they understand collectors and know what collectors want.

Do they?

Death and Jesse Custer are what got me buying DCD figures... and my dog ate Death.  And as time went on she would have ended up being in scale with the DR. Who figures instead.. Anyhoo.  I'm thinking I might want that Death, and I know my daughter is gonna want the Gotham Girls...

am I the only one that hope there's not enough interest in Death that they scrap this staction line too?

No.  I'm with you.  Mattel needs to focus on what sells.  Kinda like what Hasbro is doing with the Marvel license.

It really does feel like they're just throwing stuff against a wall and hoping something sticks.  And now when they answer questions they aren't mentioning the future retail line for 6 inch figures, just the sub.  I'm really wondering if this staction line is the new compatible line after all.

I'm not ready to go there just yet.  I think Scott is swamped and is minding his own business.  2013 retail probably isn't remotely ready and may not be for SDCC either.  He's just not addressing it.

Hope you're right.  I don't hold out much hope for retail but it would be nice to be thrown a bone every now and then.  It just struck me in the staction announcement that they said they wanted to do Golden Age through nU ( Roll Eyes yeah heard that before) and Justice League Matty said the new line wouldn't focus on JL cause it would be too restrictive.  Maybe I'm just looking too deep for clues.

Still two different scales.  At least that's the story now.

And I ain't holding much hope for retail next year either.  But like you said, an occasional bone would be nice.

On Matty, he wants to target a new consumer audience:

goth SDCC goers.

Future figures will have glitter...

If it is the "compatible" line. We're in trouble. I don't see how they will sell 6" as being compatible with 8". They should hire Moores. I hear he's been making that same argument for the last 20 years.

While the cat's away, huh... Grin Wink
