The only reason I could see them starting something new is that they could re-release a whole bunch of better known characters in the hopes that "mom" and collectors will buy them.

Hard to see Mom and Little Jimmy buying too many 6" figures at the current price point, so I can't see them paying more for 8" figures that are less "playable."

I'm just not understandng what's going on here.  Hasbro is not wasting valuable resources on new "form factors".  They're making what sells and pushing the shit out of it.  Why does Mattel feel the need to go off on yet another tangent that most of us give fuck all about?

+1, man.  I'm giving you as many points as I can this evening for that truth.

Peace,

Chip

I don't know how mattel will top themselves NEXT year. What CAN you do when you've raised the bar so high for yourself?

My hope is a 9" mego-esque Risk figure from Dan Jurgens Teen Titans team run. You know, just to show that they mean business.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying a ticket!

I'm thinking they finally give us Elongated Man, but in his bearded, dishevelled 52 look.
With a bonus pack-in dead Sue Dibney.

I wasn't expecting a DCUC exclusive this year.  The line died at retail last year and then died by retail's hand again this year in a mutated form.  The subscription barely limped into existence and has so far shown Matty is only willing to spend pennies on it and doesn't care enough to even figure the height out do of a character like Rocket Red.  Ghostbusters died on the sub vine, rumor is Voltron was very poor in its subscription performance.  The only way DCUC sub is making it to year two is if Mattel is more afraid of letting that part of the licence fall off completey over not making much money on the sub.

Well, I am kinda interested in the Hot Wheels exclusives, though I don't see any pics of them yet.  KITT and a Mystery Machine?  I'm intrigued.

I'm guessing KITT will just be repackaged since I picked this up last week-

Definitely want the Mystery Machine tho.

As for the rest, I wasn't really expecting anything from DCUC.  Sad I might've sprung for Morpheus, but Death is a pass, tho it's nice enough for what it is.

Not especially thrilled with MOTUC, but I think I can work with a repaint spaceman helmet on the barbarian costume. I agree that the barbarian helmet looks silly.

So far we have a 'it's art and you just don't understand it' nonpology from Hags and a post from Pieface Ron comparing Mike and CM to a dog that shit on the rug.

Think our official stance should be 'hell with those guys'.
