First Trailer for Superman vs. The Elite Online

by SuperHeroHype

March 15, 2012

MTV has revealed the first trailer for Superman vs. The Elite, which premieres at WonderCon on Friday, March 16 at 6:30pm.

In the film, Superman's effectiveness as a superhero comes into question when a new group of super-powerful crusaders, known as "The Elite," appear on the scene. As superheroes, the Elite know no bounds and are more than willing to kill, even on a massive scale, to stop villainy -- putting them on a collision course with the ever-ethical, preferably nonlethal Man of Steel.

The voice cast is led by George Newbern, reprising his Justice League/Justice League Unlimited role as Superman, Pauley Perrette as Lois Lane, and Robin Atkin Downes as Manchester Black, the leader of The Elite.

Halle Berry Confirmed for The Hive

Source: ComingSoon

March 15, 2012

Last October, ComingSoon.net broke the news that director Joel Schumacher was interested in casting Halle Berry for his thriller, The Hive. Then, at the beginning of this year, Schumacher dropped off the film and The Machinist director Brad Anderson took the helm. At the time, it was suspected that Berry would not be available due to scheduling conflicts but, today, Variety confirms that she's back aboard.

The project, from Exit Wounds and Thir13en Ghosts screenwriter Rich D'Ovidio, is said to focus on a female emergency line operator who, in trying to help a young girl, comes up against a killer from her own past.

Berry last appeared in New Year's Eve and can be seen at the end of this month in the action thriller Dark Tide.

Alcon Sets Hugh Jackman for Prisoners

Source: ComingSoon

March 15, 2012

Hugh Jackman is set to lead Prisoners, a dramatic thriller from Incendies director Denis Villeneuve, it was announced today by Alcon Co-Founders and Co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.

Written by Aaron Guzikowski (Contraband), Prisoners revolves around a small-town carpenter named Keller (Jackman) whose young daughter and best friend are kidnapped. After the cops fail to find them, Keller takes the law into his own hands, but in the process runs up against the big city detective assigned to the case.

Kosove and Johnson are producing, along with 8:38 Productions' Kira Davis and Madhouse Entertainment's Adam Kolbrenner. Ed McDonnell and John Stark will executive produce.

Production is scheduled to begin in early 2013 once Jackman completes The Wolverine for Fox. Alcon is targeting a November 2013 release through their output deal with Warner Bros.

States Johnson and Kosove: “We are ecstatic that Hugh will take the lead in this exciting thriller. We can think of no better 'Keller' -- an everyman who rises to an occasion most of us could not imagine possible. Denis's rare directing gifts are superbly matched to this material, that is both challenging and explores complex themes in a commercially appealing narrative.”

Jackman will next be seen playing Jean Valjean in Universal Pictures' Les Misérables, currently shooting in the UK for a release in December.
