Full Cast Announced for Guillaume Canet's Blood Ties

Source: ComingSoon

March 15, 2012

James Caan, Marion Cotillard, Bill Crudup, Mila Kunis, Clive Owen and Zoe Saldana have joined the cast of Guillame Canet's Blood Ties. The Hollywood Reporter has word that they'll star in the crime thriller.

Based on the novel "Les liens du sang" by Bruno and Michel Papet, the story is set in the 1970's and follows two brothers on opposite sides of the law. Crudup will play the younger, a cop (named Francois in the novel), with Owen starring as the older, a just-paroled convict (in the novel named Gabriel). Though he's struggling to stay away from his former life, the older brother is forced to return to the criminal underworld to help his sibling. To make matters worse, the younger brother is still in love with the wife of a criminal that he helped put away.

The film was previously adapted for the screen in French and released under the English-language title Rivals in 2008. Canet (who is the husband of Cotillard) starred in that film in the Francois role. In this version, he's behind the camera, directing solo and writing alongside James Grey (We Own the Night).

Jurassic Park to Return to Theaters in 3D

Source: ComingSoon

March 15, 2012

Jurassic Park is returning to theaters with a full 3D conversion on July 19, 2013, Universal Pictures announced today.

Next summer marks the 20th anniversary of Steven Spielberg's now-classic adaptation of Michael Crichton's novel, featuring a cast that includes Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough and many more.

The announcement also moves up the planned release of Joseph Kosinski's (TRON: Legacy) new sci-fi tale Oblivion to April 26, 2013. That film stars Tom Cruise, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, Morgan Freeman and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and is based on Kosinski's own Radical Publishing comic book.

Ty Burrell and Max Charles Take Mr. Peabody & Sherman

Source: ComingSoon

March 15, 2012

Although it was reported last year that Robert Downey Jr. was attached to voice DreamWorks Animation's Mr. Peabody & Sherman, the Marvel's the Avengers star appears to have left the 3D CGI animated project. Variety is now reporting that Ty Burrell ("Modern Family") and Max Charles (The Amazing Spider-Man) will voice the dog and his boy, respectively.

Based on Jay Ward's classic TV series, Mr. Peabody & Sherman will be directed by Rob Minkoff (Stuart Little, The Lion King), marking his return to animation after 15 years.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is scheduled for release on March 14, 2014.

Source: ComingSoon

March 16, 2012

Blur Studios' Tim Miller, who directed the opening credits for David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has been set by Legendary Pictures to direct Gravel, says Deadline.

Gravel is a comic book series created by Warren Ellis. The project revolves around the character William Gravel, a soldier in the British S.A.S. who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for clients in order to make some extra cash.

Ellis introduced the character in a 1999 limited series of graphic novels published under the title "Strange Kiss."

Legendary will produce the project with Rick Alexander, with Ellis as executive producer and Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell are writing the script. Warner Bros. will distribute the film.

Miller is also attached to direct Deadpool at Twentieth Century Fox.

Warrior Director Gavin O'Connor Travels to Neverland

Source: ComingSoon

March 16, 2012

Warrior helmer Gavin O'Connor is in talks to direct Sony Pictures' Neverland, reports Variety.

The movie, to be produced by Joe Roth (Snow White and the Huntsman, Alice in Wonderland), Palak Patel, Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin, is an origin story about J.M. Barrie's characters Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

The trade adds that Tatum, Carolin and Eric Bromberg came up with the idea and brought it to Roth Films and screenwriter Billy Ray for the group to develop as a pitch.

Tatum will not be starring in the film.

Okay, everyone, this is it.  My bag is packed and I'm ready to go.  I'm heading out the door.  I'll "see" you guys when I get back.  There will be plenty of pictures.

Have a great weekend and be good to each other, okay?
