The Gear Thread - Comic Apparel
«

I was looking around today and came across a shirt that I really wanted to show you guys. This is not the first time it's happened but I never realy know where to post it so I often don't bother. This one was way too cool though so I figured I would make a thread where we can show what kind of comic gear we have found/acquired with people who will appreciate it.
Here is the shirt that prompted the thread.

I have never ran across something that features The Flash's rouges like that.
There was also this one, which has Superman and King Kong. Pretty spectacular as well.

Sorry I couldn't just post the pictures of the shirts. Their sight doesn't allow you do just copy the image location. Very worth a look though.

That is a cool Rogues shirt, but 34.00 is kinda crazy.
There's a thread in Study Hall where several of us discuss our comic/nerd tee collections:

£34 for a faded t-shirt..no fucking way.
I
hate
this trend for distressed clothing.
I want a smart, clean image, not a tee that looks like I wore it for ten years in bed, eating curry.
Fucking hipsters.
Also, that's not King Kong, it's Titano.

I don't mind the faded look but it is way too expensive. Something to watch for a sale on though.
Not King Kong, eh? Ah. Well it's a superhero and a monkey. Two of my favorite things. I like it. *reads about Titano*

I don't care about Marvel too much but this is a tee shirt I would wear for sure. Very creative.

And this is not a great shirt but I like the character enough I could probably wear it.

This. This right here. If MORE people would adopt that "I don't know who that old character, so I'm going to research it!" attitude, there would be no wars in the toy world.
Also, kinda like the distressed look. Took me a while to, though.
Also also, Jsay: do you really eat curry in bed? Ew.

Thanks for the link on that FF shirt! FF is my all-time favorite comic and I have several shirts with them on it. I'd never seen that shirt, and it's perfect.
Here was my stash from Valentine's Day. April & I have been watching a lot of Big Bang Theory and I've commented on a lot of Sheldon's shirts, so she got me a couple along with a cool Pop Art JLA shirt.
I also just snagged this one...based on one of my all-time favorite covers.
I think I have about 30+ superhero t-shirts now. I love 'em.
Peace,
Chip

I have learned a ton because of the DCUC line, this site, and even Batman Brave and the Bold. I love looking into new old characters.
Chip, glad you like the FF shirt. I love finding cool superhero shirts. I could not see myself wearing most out in public. But this is one I would love to have even without being that big on the characters.

I've been considering that Bane shirt. I like that it's not a full character shirt.

That's basically what I like about it too. Basically if i wear a comic tee shirt it's going to have some very unique art or more often than not be something that non comic people could tell was a comic shirt. Occasionally I'll wear a blatant comic shirt under a hoodie but not often. I feel like BBT made novelty tee shirts a little more acceptable but that's likely just rationalization on my part.

I wear a zippered Superman sweatshirt pretty much all the time, so you can put me in the "out in the open" category.

Well, I wear a comic or otherwise geek-inspired shirt pretty much every day, I just don't generally like shirts that have the character, only the logos and such. I particularly like ones that are a little obscure like my Firefly Independent army and Arkham Inmate shirts, where you kinda have to be in on the joke to get them in the first place.

That's why I still wear my "Blue Harvest" t-shirt, even though it's 15 years old now.
Peace,

I'm "out" now but there is still a difference between art I like in a book verse on my chest. I will wear logos. Characters are just tough. The only way they look "cool" to me is if they have that retro distressed look like the first two I posted. Even then, that Rouges shirt pushes the limit of what I would wear out and about.
I am coming off like some pretentious asshole. It's more that I am a baby faced fat tub and dressing decent allows me to look presentable so I am more careful about what I wear.
I have a Green Lantern logo shirt that is my favorite "geek" shirt.
Nothing fancy but I dig it. I like the little bit of extra work put into the logo so it's not so plain.
