I think they might place too much importance on visual appeal, at least for pop culture nerds. For instance, I'd rather have Michael Corleone in a suit than a guy from Predators. I dunno maybe I'm in the minority, but to me the character is the thing...and with their caliber of sculpting, I would think they don't need to be reliant on guns and flak vests. Vito Corleone is still the most amazing figure I own, and it's just an old guy in a suit with a cat.
From what I've read, they just don't like to do the "guy in a suit" figures. It's partly because they aren't that interesting visually and partly because those figures aren't a challenge to create. Thanks to Headplay and others like them, most of those sorts of figures can be bashed together for a fraction of what a HT version would cost. Sure, the sculpt probably isn't going to be of HT quality, but it's good enough for the tastes and budgets of most people.
It's kind of funny that if they weren't so dead set on eliminating their competition (Enterbay), I'm sure their Vito Corleone wouldn't even exist.

Now begins the letter writing campaign to have Enterbay make some average figures of the 3 Corleone boys.

A: Avatar, Predators, Sucker Punch and Tron.
Q: What are four movie properties I couldn't give two fucks about?
At least it keeps my bank account happy.

That's definitely the plus side to every release that doesn't interest me. With
The Avengers
,
The Dark Knight Rises
and
Batman Returns
on the way, I'm more than happy to see them releasing stuff that doesn't interest me much right now.

When it's items that are $150 - $200 dollars -- I'm fine with that.
When it's figures that are $15 - $20 dollars, it kinda pisses me off.
Funny that...

I'm a Yautja fan, so Predator releases are a win in my book. That said, I'd much prefer the Oleg Taktarov character (guy with the mini-gun) than the Lawrence Fishburne character they're releasing.

When it comes to Predators, I'm all about the Predators themselves. I don't have much interest in the humans, except for Dutch.
The new City Hunter Predator will be up for pre-order on Sideshow's site tomorrow. Photos should surface any time.

I have Royce btw and he's pretty cool. But then he's got an AA-12 shotgun so how can he not be?

I enjoyed to the first two Predator movies, but have no real attachment to them, but I have to say that looks pretty damn sharp.

JM, I picture your house looking something like a NASA or Dept of Defense control room. Banks of computers and technicians, constantly monitoring the web for the perfect video or jpg for any post or talkback thread.
