Yeah, I need to get myself organized. I've been so incredibly busy between the two "real" jobs that I've been kind of flying by the seat of my pants on this project so far. Still planning to get another set or two out in the mail Monday or Tuesday, though! Then, I'll go back through PMs and see who I need to start drawing next.

Well, by all means, we should get rid of the U.S. Postal Service! I put Jack's set of Pally's Pals in the mail on Saturday, and today, (Monday), he informs me that they've already arrived. Can't do any better than that!

As I mentioned, Jack has asked me not to cut the figures out, so that he can have them laminated for his son to play with. So what you'll see below is his set uncut. And I agreed to make his set thematic based on who it's actually for. (I have a hard time refusing pretty much anything for kids!)

Hope you all like them...

Well... so far, I've mailed out sets to JackKnight, Marv-El, Titansfan, and Rod Keith. I'm currently working on Sherlock Foley's group, which somehow turned out to be less done than I thought it was. Partly, sets have gone out due to having figures sitting in the "warehouse." Some of you, however, have chosen to present challenges to me in the form of characters I've never, ever drawn before! So it's taking a little longer to make sure I'm doing them in a manner consistant with the standards we here at Pally's Pals Unlimited insist upon.

It's looking like Mr. Foley's going to get the very first Marvel Pally's Pals characters, too. There were a couple I simply couldn't resist doing for him.

Thank goodness no one's doing an "Ask Pally" segment, so I don't have to work up a bunch of non-answers to your Pally's Pals questions!

I would totally be your "ToyGuru" or whoever the fuck answers the questions for "Matty" -- giving answers in a somewhat similar manner, only nastier.

But not every fifteen days.  Who could commit to that?  Maybe every fifteen weeks...  Grin

Well, if they ever insist on such a questions segment, Scot, you're my man for the job! Let's see... would you call yourself "Paper Dolls Guru?"

 Shocked

(If my dad was looking down from Heaven on me as I typed that, I probably just made him laugh! He always called them "paper dolls" in a very deriding sort of way. On the other hand, he'd have been very confused by the fact that people are willing to shell out any money for such things!)

OK, here's how you know your work is successful...

So this morning I made a big mistake and showed RK Junior all of Palinore's pics of his Pally's Pals that I could find, in this and a couple other threads. Being a concentrated, more intense living embodiment of my own collecting urges, he absolutely had to have them. Like, today. All day long he was saying he wanted some. He's a real Orange Lantern.

So, tonight, with great love for the concept, and fear of my own child, I started my own 'custom' versions of the Pals...

Say hello to... "Bub's Buddies"! ('Bub" is RK Jr.' s official title in the house, like "Mom' or 'Dad'.)

Apparently the mandate is to make 1 DC character and 1 Marvel character at the same time. Hence, the Captains.

There shall be no infringement on the official Pally's Pals market. These are not for sale, and are intended for personal fan use only. No implication of rights ownership is implied.  laugh

Nice!!!

Those are really beautiful, Rod! (And I'm sure they're in a different scale, so copyright won't apply!)

 Wink

Seriously... they are very cool. And I see you use ink rather than colored pencil, which makes you a much braver man than me!

What kind of paper stock are you using? Is that poster board?

No, they're on some 4 x 6" cards, it's just that they're on really crappy stock 4 x 6" cards. And I don't think I left enough room at the bottom either, hence the strut support.

I'm like DC Direct! They look pretty, but they're unstable and slightly out of scale! Grin Cry
