Exciting (and expensive) news, but your subject line is misleading:

I know what the article says and I know what DC Direct produces. DCD has tried to copy Sideshow for years and have failed almost every time. They are now giving way to a company that knows what they are doing when it comes high-end collectibles.

Sadly, WB and/or DCD will still probably dictate some of product that gets made. That's where that "leadership" comes in to play...

"Robust" offerings? confused laugh

Statue and bust wise, DCD have been doing pretty fantastic work in the last few years. The Cover Girls line, DC Dynamics, and their Heroes / Women of the DCU bust lines have been fantastic and plentiful.

I'd be happy to see them get out of 6" altogether and just stick to their busts and statues, which are pretty affordable compared to Sideshow prices.

They've done a solid job with the 1/6 GI Joes, I'd take a satellite JLA! Thumb's Up

That's a point!   Grin

I tried to get into Sideshow several years ago when I was still into 1/6.  Buffy, X-Files, Star Wars...the prototypes always looked sick, but I was never truly happy with the actual production figures.  Since getting out of Famous Covers, I think I'm pretty much done with clothed figures.  It would take something like a drop dead gorgeous Black Canary, Zatanna, or Hunteess to get me to even think about biting.

I'd bite for a Silver Age Wonder Woman so I could replace the monstrosity that DC Direct made.  I'm pretty damn happy with the majority of the others that were released.  Especially the Silver Age Batman and Robin.

Honestly, looking closer at the announcement, I think premium format statues are more likely.

Maybe DC will let Art Asylum do DC Mini-Mates.  Here's hoping.

I always lament just how much Marvel Minimate stuff gets produced, and fondly remember my C3 DC Minimates.  The DCU done in blocky Lego-y form would be absolutely fun to collect, and I don't understand what it is that prevented it from continuing.

Still, I guess I'll enjoy my Batman, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, and others and be happy I have them at all.
