Will the relaunch of the DCU affect DCUC?  Will you continue to buy DCUC if the reboot hits the toy line?  Would you accept a separate spur line to do the "new DCU" figures?  What if they mixed in the new versions with the "classic figures"?

I think whoever of the Mess contingent that goes to SDCC needs to corner some muthafuckers and demand answers.

Urgh, I'd not thought about the first part. Agree totally about the second part though.

Nope, not interested in the new looks...even if the stories are good.  Would rather Mattel not succumb to ADD and stick with giving us the current and past DC first.  Let Brewer handle the new looks.

Well, we know that Mattel is making modern Captain Boomerang instead of classic as a "favor" to someone at DC.  (And we all know who that someone is.)

And as long as that particular someone continues to whisper sweet nothings in Matty's big ears, we're going to be fucked.

I was thinking about Trickster and how his modern version would take precedence if they put him on the schedule.

I think that just happened to the whole DCU?  sick

Sadly, even the much anticipated wave 19 doesn't float my boat much.

I like the Atom (pending size evalutation), Sandman and Kobra of course.
Hawkman and Magog are total misses for me. Never been all that enamoured with Courtney (and I'll bet she's another whispering in the ear fig).

Stripe? Yuck.

So after some really below par GL figures (and I say that a a big GL fan) and two waves of shit?

I don't really care anymore.
I'll pick up the one's I like or need to complete a team.
The days of completionism are long gone though.

In fact other than the odd Hardcover or special purchase, I think I'm pretty much done with this hobby anyway.
I have torrents of everything DC from '38 to around 2000 and that will do me nicely.

Tons to catch up on and no movie reboots to boot.

I'll Byrne steal anything else that strikes my interest whenever I go to my LCS for Secret Six,  G.I Joe and anything Morrison and Ellis.

Hell, the Mess and other fan-organized sites deserve and should be the first to get answers. MTV getting the first exclusive look at Wave 19 bothers me. Yeah, I know you could argue it's trivial considering it's the Internet and information spreads quickly. However, do you know how excited and honored a real fan-site would feel if they were granted the exclusive? They would be thrilled and appreciative, and that enthusiasm would carry into the coverage. Hell, if Matty gave the Mess or any other fan site the exclusive, all they would have to do is provide the pictures, and I'm pretty sure the admins and mods posting the pics could write their own bios that are considerably alot better--and passionate--than the ones on "MTV Geek". Again, it just rubs me the wrong way. Why give the exclusive first look to a website/company that could probably care less about DCUC? However, the Mess and other collector boards have worked endlessly to promote DCUC--involuntarily and unconsciously--because we love the brand and demonstrate unyielding passion for these figures that bring us happiness. Anways, I'm just griping: I heard Perez Hilton will be breaking Wave 20 next week.

I'm really in "Wait and See" mode right now.

I'm in for 19, but after that, I don't know.

I'm expecting the worst, but hoping for the best.

This. Thumb's Up

I think that at the very least we'll mostly get classic stuff for now. However, if this reboot succeeds; inevitably the line will turn into the New DCU toyline. We won't like it; but I can't see them continuing to promote looks and characters that aren't even canon anymore with its own toyline and not the kewl new stuff.

that's what really galls me. They bent over backwards to try to re-integrate the Pre Crisis DCU into things after Infinite Crisis, only to crap the bed, and negate everything again.

Am I crazy to think we will get a mixture of both?  I can't see MATTEL just totally dropping anything Classic, and by Classic, I mean anything pre 2011?? ( Did I just fucking say that???!!! )

errr...

Seriously though, there's so much Classic GA, SA, BA, and 90s stuff untouched, I cannot imagine they would simply end the line where it's at, and stat churning out nothing but looks that havn't even appeared yet.
