Gosh darn it...the two of you aren't making this easy!

I have two ideas, don't know if either one can compete...but can't decide which to go with.  And yeah, I know I can't post both of them.  Guess I'll do "mock-ups' for both jokes, and post whichever one I think works better.

Well, I just tried them both...and I STILL can't decide which one to post.  Of course this has to be the one week my fellow comic geek friend & co-worker is on vacation, otherwise I'd solicit his opinion as to which one to post.  Phooey (or as Nero Wolfe would say & spell it: "Pfui").

Actually, I SHOULD send them to you.  Whichever one you like less, that ought to be the one I post.  There was that time you thought I had a really good one and felt I had the round in da bag.  Not only were you wrong, but I think you won that round too! Hmmm...

Again, I think you AND Chooch both knocked it out of the park this time around.  Chooch's was straight up funny (and there's few things I like more than jokes of that nature), and yours -- made me pause, think about it for a moment, and then I had a delayed guffaw.

Pally -- it's possible I may end up disqualifying myself from this.  I have SIX different versions of this panel all prepared, and I STILL can't decide which to use.  I've asked opinions from four different people (including one of my esteemed competitors) -- and of course I got different picks from ALL of them.  ARGH!

Maybe I'll just pick one when I get home, declare it to be my "official entry" and then post the rest just for the entertainment value.  If it turns out anyone thinks I should have gone with one of THOSE choices...well, that's just the way the Pally's Pal crumples!  I just can't stare at them anymore -- which only makes them less amusing the more I go back & forth (which doesn't help matters any).

Anyways...I'm gonna do what I said.  Pick one as my official entry (probably the first one I came up with, even if now I no longer think it's the funniest one), and then just post the other five for the sheer heck of it.  Maybe I can at least garner some sort of consolation/booby prize.

This manifested in the wee hours last night. Just clicked into place as I looked one more time at that damned panel, and I'll confess it was a "leading contender".  One other person also thought it was one of the best ones:

 
This one was floating around like a lonely, unflushed turd in the toilet of my mind last night just before I nodded off.  I'd say it's the weakest one of all six:

 
And the basic idea of this one hit me early this afternoon.  Even made me and another person laugh out loud.  Still, I knocked it out of the running because I wanted to submit a "kindler, gentler" entry, as I decided to concede the "edgier" ground to Chooch & Marv El:

Ok... I need to take some time to think on these. Actually, what I'm going to do is step away from them, and then look at the 3 official entries one more time. Then I'll pick my winner.
