I've never "frankensteined" a DCUC figure before.
How much of this figure can I dissemble?

Yup.
I want to do his back in the classic GA version- so that the stripes are only on the front of the torso and his back has a very large white star.
I could use a Doc Mid Night and a Superman to help outfit the costume. My question is in regards to how much of the figure I can get apart.

At the moment, I could see using Doc Mid Night's legs/boots and gloves.
I might just sculpt over the scales. Haven't decided the path of least crap.

Having done custom scales for my Cap, and thinking about other ways to do it if
I
was gonna do it again, I think I might cut the torso and arms at the spot where the scales end, and frankenstein on the corresponding non-scaly parts. I really think that would be the best look if done right, but I don't currently have the right tools to do that myself.

Sin,
These are wonderful-
un abrazo
! I love looking at them. These guys have done an amazing job with the iconic Captain America- my favorite standalone figure.
Unfortunately, now that I've seen these figures I don't want to duplicate them! I think I can still get away with my idea of creating the TIMELY Captain America, if TF goes for it:
The biggest changes:
1) Cap only has seven stripes on his abdomen. They don't go all the way around. The star on his back is much larger.
2) The shield has four rings, with blue on the outer ring.
Looking at the TIMELY gloves, they look more DCUC Aquaman-ish than DCUC Red Tornado/ Dr Mid Nite.
We'll see if TF goes for this!!

Hey Doc. I kinda wanted to go more in the direction of the '70's Roy Thomas Invaders look. I want old Steve to pull double duty in my Invaders/Avengers display. Same with all the Invaders really. I loved that Roy Thomas series. Hope this is ok.

all of it , if you careful Doc. When I take them apart I usually crack it from the bottom up, inside the legs, wait , here...I hate to do it , but it has pics...

I'm finished my Cap custom (I ordered a head from DMC that I'm waiting for) and I just replaced the lower torso piece and carefully sanded off the scales of the rest of the torso (I replaced the lower arms) so I know it can be done ...
Have fun!

I've replaced the lower arms and lower legs before. just need hot water and patience to get the replacement parts back on.

Great!
I do like the idea of a Cap that can serve double-duty for Avengers/Invaders.
