I was thinking of those Superman and Aquaman games that
everyone
agreed were just terrible. Let's not forget "Justice League Task Force," either. Awful, awful, awful.
I've never seen them. Actually, I saw a shit Superman one, Shadow of Apokolips. It was awful.

Justice League Task Force was a Sega Genesis game that took some JLA characters and tossed them into a Street Fighter-type fight game. Which meant you had such likely scenarios as Green Arrow going one-on-on with Superman and Aquaman versus Darkseid. And it sucked. Terribly.

Wow, they've really improved the service since I got it. A whole bunch of new games and demos to download, but now they've added TV shows and music too. This thing keeps getting better and better. You Sony sluts can expect the same kind of thing when you sell your cars or homes and get a PS3. It's pretty cool.
From what I understand the WII will also offer an online service, but as it does not support Hi Def, I'm not sure to what extent. One cool thing though is that you will supposedly be able to access the entire Nintendo library from the NES on. I don't know if all if these are purchases or not but it sounds cool.

Considering that the Wii is the cheapest of the three, I honestly hope my in-laws (they grow money) get the Wii for my kids. I wouldn't buy it for myself. I won't buy a PS3 until a new GTA game is on it's way. In fact, I'd probably wait a month or so, THEN buy the PS3 and the GTA game. I figure I can start saving now. You know, the price will probably be in the low $10,000's by then.

Yeah, the Wii looks like the system for the kiddies, same as the Game Cube. I think Nintendo's decision to target a revolutionary controller instead of beefing the system up may hurt them in the long run though. From the game reviews that have been coming in, the graphics appear to be on par with the X-box and PS2. Once the newness of the controller wears off, they may be in a bit of trouble. In fact I really can't see playing a game as long as Call of Duty using the controller as a gun the whole time. To me, motion sensor controllers are a bit gimmicky, the game is what I care about, not the method of controlling it.

Yeah, I see the controller as a problem too. Here's to hoping they weren't short-sighted and made the motion sensor MANDATORY on the games, you dig?

From what I understand you can use the controllers as traditional controllers too....but there's a whole slew of games built around the motion sensor...like Golf and Bowling and such.

Yeah, but as long as the flagship games - Zelda, Mario, etc... - have the option to turn it off, I believe the system is golden. You know, that whole "playing all (ALL!) the old Nintendo games online" thing is
really
appealing as well.

I have seen the future of gaming....
Real quick, (I'll give some more in depth reviews when I have time) I have been playing some of the new X-box 360 titles the nephew got. Man is there ever a difference between the new platforms and the old ones. It's not just the mind-blowing graphics either, the worlds are bigger, ridiculously bigger, and these games have given me some of the most enjoyable game experience since I was a kid. From a graphics standpoint, I think it's realistic to say that the games will be CGI quality on the next go 'round. At times they're damn near there now.
From the reviews that have been coming in, gameplay and graphics are pretty much a wash between the PS2 and the 360 with some titles looking better on the PS3 in some ways and better on the 360 in others. Right now, the 360 is by far the better buy....but when the the PS3 drops a little more it will be well worth it.
The Wii is in a totally different category, they've eschewed next-gen graphics for gameplay...pretty smart when you think about it.

I'm of the mind that the Wii is the next 2600 - the next console that everyone will want/need/get. It's SO innovative and FUN! Plus, you don't have to be a 'finger-wizard' to enjoy the Wii. The controls are so ridiculously simple it's amazing, BUT in depth enough to be a challenge. We got our boys one (a joint present) and the Wii Sports that came with it entertained all of us and my live-in(garage) buddy on Christmas Day.

Yeah, it does appear to propel the industry in an entire new direction. I think I'm going to pick one up for the nephew next year. Therein lies the genius of Nintendo. I think everyone will end up with a 360 and a Wii or a PS3 and a Wii because it is so different than the other two.

Yeah, that's the thing. It IS so different. It's ACTIVE.
Everything prior has been so... PASSIVE. I remember marathon sessions of FF VIII, where I barely moved from my spot on the couch. Eight hours with nothing but infrequent pee breaks.
With the Wii, my buddy and I were bowling 150+ games.
AWESOME!

Damn skippy.
I'm gonna plant more cucumbers this year, and let a few more light bulbs in the house burn out.
