I have to say I got confused when I saw the image headlining the article -- isn't that from Billy Joel's "Songs in the Attic"?  Or will that now be the "banner" for all future "Vinyl Testaments" articles?

As to the actual article -- although I'm iffy at best when it comes to John/Taupin -- was a very informative and interesting piece.

Yes, that's the banner for the series. Main image from SITA with shelves and boxes of albums added. Looks more like my basement now.

Thanks for the response. I'm not the biggest Elton fan myself. I've seen him live once but I don't rush to see what he's working on next. I'm actually a much bigger Joel fan, but I don't think of any of his albums as obscure so probably won't do any of them here. The songs on Two Rooms are well-known in general but the treatments they get here make them interesting in new ways.

Excellent write-up Marv.  If you were writing for Rolling Stone, I'd still be buying that.

Once upon a time, I thought I would, but since they won't give up on the dichotomy of 'the 60s produced the only good music but we have to sell to kids today' I'd rather write for the smaller but more discerning audience here.
(What smaller? We have a worldwide circulation!)

The wife is a huge John-Taupin fan, I might get this for her.

I really like it, but I'm not a huge fan. I know sometimes fans of the originals don't care for covers, but these really stand on their own, especially if she's a fan of any of the acts here.

And it's a good semi-romantic gift, for a semi-romantic guy like you.

Hadn't heard of the album before but sounds like something that'd be fun to listen to.
