No less than eight different characters have taken up this mantle, and they've all been enemies of Batman.  Ladies and gentlemen, the spotlight this week falls on Clayface!

God why can't I get excited about this?  I guess it's because the only and I mean only time I've ever liked Bane was when he was in Secret Six.  and even then he wasn't my favorite on the team.  None of these trailers are winding me up.

On one hand, that sucks (for you).  On the other hand, maybe your inherent dislike of that character is indeed what had colored your reaction to these ads -- and thus your expectations for the film will be so microscopically low that when you see TDKR -- it will be virtually impossible for you NOT to be bowled over.

Good tactic -- I like it.  And here I thought you were just being a "major bummer".  Wink

Christian Bale Doesn't Rule Out a Fourth Batman

by SuperHeroHype

May 29, 2012

This entire time we've all been lead to believe that the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises would be the final entry in Chris Nolan's Batman series, and with good cause because that's what he said.

But recently in an interview with Empire magazine, Christian Bale isn't ruling out a fourth entry to the series.

Warning: Potential spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises.

"My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time. But...if Chris came to me with a script and said, 'You know what? There is another story' then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work," he said.

Is Bale legitimate in his quote? Or is it, as some fans have said, simply said to be misleading due to many rumors that Batman won't make it through the end of the film. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th.

I haven't heard or looked for any rumors about the story line, but if Batman dies in this one, that would be fine with me, and not for any cruel reason but because then we'd know the status of the Nolanverse. Nothing to keep from telling an untold tale, but the impression I get is that these movies tell all the story there is through this one, the end.

That rumor is one that I had not heard before and don't want nor expect it to be true.
On another note, if Man of Steel is actually good, a Bale and Cavill Worlds Finest would be dreamy!!!

No comment on whether the rumor is true or not.

If it does turn out to be true -- have to admire Nolan's guts to do such a thing.

Does your "no comment" remark mean that you've seen or heard stuff or just that you don't have more to say on the issue?  I can't see how that would play out on screen, especially with WB wanting this to be a blockbuster.  These little rumors I keep hearing ARE getting me more excited about the movie though.

I'll just say that this has been hinted at -- but I've not seen it typed out on a script page.  So far, it's been impossible to get a hold of what would be the 3rd act of the screenplay.

My guess is it probably won't happen simply because even with Nolan's creative control -- this would be going too far and WB would have to say "no".  But -- I can think of a way they might be able to get away with it.  I'm sure if you think about it -- you can as well.

I have a theory about how it will go, and found out I definitely wasn't alone.  I posted a thread to a link about it quite a few pages back.  I'm pretty sure it will be the last NOLAN movie.

Matthew Modine Gets His Own Dark Knight Rises Poster... Sort Of

by SuperHeroHype

May 29, 2012

Last week, Warner Bros. revealed several character posters for Christopher Nolan's highly-anticipated Bat-finale, The Dark Knight Rises. Not surprisingly, the first three featured Christian Bale's Batman, Anne Hathaway's Catwoman and Tom Hardy's Bane. Since the July 20th release also stars actors like Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (to name a few), could more designs be on the way?

Prepping to promote the actor's role in the film, Matthew Modine's publicist today sent along an e-mail with the below image attached. Not an official one-sheet, the design was created by fan Messenjamatt and Tweeted to Modine. The actor was so impressed that wanted to share it with the world.

As it stands, very little is known about Modine's character, a deputy commissioner named Peter Foley. If the poster is any indication, though, he's much like other Gotham City residents in that he enjoys standing in the rain.

Who knows? Maybe Foley could wind up with an official poster when all is said and done. Fan support certainly helped in getting Agent Coulson one.
