CriticalMess.Net Mattel Q&A for April 1st, 2010

Zeeksin asks:
Is there an interest on Mattel's part on continuing the DC license beyond the original "5 year mission"? Has there been any discussions yet with DC regarding renewal? Other than buying product, is there anything we as fans can do to facilitate this?

Outlook good.

Bigraj asks:
In a recent interview, it was stated that a fully articulated Tytus figure would cost around $100.  ToyBiz and Hasbro have both made Marvel Legends Icons with much more articulation, that aren't rotocast. The cost was around 25 bucks for the most recent figures.  The Gigantic Battles 2-packs featured a fully articulated 12" figure and a smaller figure for less than $30.  Why does a less articulated rotocast figure in the same scale cost $40?

Concentrate and ask again.

Hyperion asks:
A number of times over the past few years, you have repeatedly been asked about the GA Hawkman and Hawkgirl 2-pack that was discussed, demanded, shelved and begged for.  Why did you wait until now to reveal that the discussed 2-pack never make it past the discussion/paper-planning stage when it was often intimated that you had gone much further than that (initial scupts and the like)?

It is decidedly so.

Jackknight asks:
Does the current involvement of certain superstars in TNA (Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Mick Foley etc.) effect the possibility of them showing up in your new WWE Classics line in any way?

Better not tell you now.

Rod Keith asks:
I know that a lot of collectors bought multiples of the Parademons, both green and red, from wave 8 (I myself bought four of each). Did that particular figure sell well enough that Mattel would consider more army builders in the near future--such as Rocket Reds, Manhunters, OMACs, Checkmate agents, Kobra operatives, Amazons, Guardians, Weaponers of Qward, Silver Age Superman Robots, Triplicate Girl, Multiplex, etc.-- perhaps each packed with a stand so we don't end up with multiples of the same CnC piece?

Very doubtful.
