CriticalMess.net Mattel Q&A for July 1st, 2009

Gardner Grayle asks:

"Since there are no Worlds Greatest in the Wal-Mart wave, will there be any variants?"

No, there will not be variants in Wave 10.

Doghouse Reilly asks:

"Getting the Atom was a great little bonus for Wave 8. Are pack-ins of tiny characters going to be a regular feature of the line going forward or just a rare treat? Including characters like Doll Man, Doll Girl, Shrinking Violet, Quislet, Bat-Mite, Streaky, and others when the budget allows seems like a great way to add value to the package and entice a collector to buy a figure they might otherwise skip."

Definitely a possibility, but nothing to announce quite yet.

Multiple members ask:

"Will there be a fan vote poll this year for DCUC?"

The next poll will run during SDCC on Wizarduniverse.com and will be announced in the next issue of Toy Fare magazine.

Scot Eric asks:

"The C&C figures have been an amazing success -- creating figures that would have otherwise not been available. However -- is it possible that in any future waves --- instead of the parts adding up to a hero or villain -- we might see other avenues explored, such as the Shining Knight's winged horse Victory, Metron's Mobius chair, or any other vehicles, oversized accessories or "super" pets?"

This is something we are looking into.

Multiple members ask:

"It's been ventured at DCO (DCD boards) that the upcoming Question is derived in part from the Movie Masters Two-Face figure, and therefore will be "tiny". Is this true, or will the Question be the same size as the rest of the regular DCUC figures (i.e. not even as small as Sinestro)? We ask this so you can quash any potential internet alarmism."

The Question figure is based on the Clark Kent suit body from the DC Superheroes line. (the same as the Riddler figure from Wave 5)
