Marvel Legends Fin Fang Foom Reviewed.

Resident Toy Finder Extraordinaire JQ3x29yz4 takes a look at Hasbro's latest Build A Figure.  We all know that Hasbro hasn't exactly wowed us with their attempts with Marvel Legends.  Is the latest Hulk waves with this massive BAF a sign that things are turning around, or is this just more of the mediocre same?

Check it out and see for yourself.

Peebeegee - Behind the scenes at the Paradise Bar and Grill

You must read this to believe it.  J. Collins also known around here as Paradise Bar took it upon himself to put out a weekly 52 issue Fumetti style comic book.  The book never "shipped" late and Mr. Collins did all the work.  He plotted the issues, wrote the dialog, staged and edited the photos and added the effects.... a Herculean effort to say the least.  So sit back, relax and enjoy the fruit of his labor.  But first, a little intro...

Peebeegee is a companion piece to the aforementioned Paradise Bar and Grill, chronicling the backstage shenanigans of the "cast and crew" of Paradise Bar and Grill.

For those of you unfamiliar with J. Collins' Paradise Bar and Grill action figure comic strip, check it out .  (Note: You can also read the Paradise Bar and Grill strip at any time by clicking the banner at right.)

OK I got up extra early to take the call from Doc and get the lowdown for you all.  No pictures, but they'll eventually hit the other sites soon enough.  I was writing furiously and may have got a few things wrong, but here's what Doc found out and his impressions.

JLU

All Villains wave coming with the like of Shadow Thief and Atomic Skull

Grodd box set is being reisussed with "show accurate" paint apps

SDCC Exclusive Giganta both human sized and giant rotoscoped size.  Don't know how tall she actuall be.

DCUC

Wave 4
Wonder Woman with Artemis variants
Cyborg
Captain Atom (classic DC version) with Ross KC look as variant
Riddler w/Green suit and bowler hat
Batman Beyond (That's right, fucking Batman Beyond)
MA Despero BAF

Wal-mart Exclusive wave
Mr. Miracle
Classic SAish Hawkman
MA Black Lightening (that's right just like the one DCD did, notice a theme here
MA Matallo (steame shovel version that we already got from DCD)  BAF

Mattel also announced Two Packs that will include new figures mixed in with ones that were previously done.  Batgirl and Azrael will both find their way to a two pack.  Lightray will apoear in a 2-pack with a new Orion with removable helmet.  That kinda pisses me off too.  I don't wanna buy another Oriion, not even with a removalbe helmet.  The sculpt on Orion will be his New Genesis visage.

Doc admitted that he may have some in the wrong waves, but the figures themselves are all confirmed.  His impression was that Mattel had a chance to make several highly requested figures that DCD has yet to do and instead opted to do the same version that DCD had already done.  Coulda been a great time to get a classic Black Lightening.  Don't know if a variant figure is planned though.  And just like DCD Mattel is offering us a hodgepodge collection, MA Black Lightening for our Satellite JLA?

DCD

As you've aready seen the New Gods 2, and Doc said they looked fantastic.

said the Showcase figures looked great.

13 inch Lantern set looked great as did the 13 inch Sinestro Corp Sinestro.  I asked about alternate heads for that one, Doc said none of the figures were showing alternate heads.  So perhaps we can have our SA Lantern Corp square off against a Sinestro Corp?

13" Spirit looked like crap.

Oh, Kevin Maguire liked Black Canary and Ice but thought the Batman face looked pinched.

I've got Neal and Jason Adams on DCD and the possibility of figures coming in a follow up article.

Stay tuned for more, and remember any news that we do here (which is few and far between) is not going to be fair and balanced.  We aint a toy journalism site, just a bunch of dudes offering our opinions on what is crap and what aint,

Talk about it here.

Resident Whiz-Kid reviews Wizkids' Latest Heroclix!

Wizkids' Latest Heroclix set is upon us.

Titled "Crisis", and based on the numerous DC books that have used the title over the years, it promised to include many well-known and much-demanded characters. Did it Deliver?, read on, and decide for yourself.

Heroclix reformatted itself after the 5th anniversary, and as such, they're still working the kinks out in the game mechanics, as well as the presentation.

Events are now handled with a dial (just a figureless clixbase), with a card to explain the in-game effect.

DC Direct Wonder Woman Series 1 Review

As a lifelong Wonder Woman fan and a collector of DC Direct action figures, this set of four figures was eagerly anticipated on a personal level. Not least because it's the first WW-themed series of figures since 2001's "Amazons & Adversaries," from DC-D. While it's true that the company has kept the market saturated with Wonder Woman variants (I count 21 to date, including repaints), the rest of her extended family and rogues gallery has gotten little love. So while there are a handful of Cheetah variants, adequate versions of Cassie Sandsmark and Artemis, and a nicely detailed Ares...that's it.

The "Sprang" Batmobile is here, courtesy of Dr. T!

“Batmobile Crash Leaves Batman An Invalid!” was the shocking headline in Gotham, after a group of two-bit gangsters take an RPG to the Batmobile. Batman survives with a broken leg, and spends his recuperation time designing a new car “ten years ahead of anything else on wheels!”.

The first ride ever pimped! The original Batmobile in 3D!

The first car to ever carry the title was a convertible roadster, with a bat-shaped hood ornament as the only bat-motif. It made a few appearances and was never seen or heard from again, most likely due to embarrassment.

Project of Infinite Proportions!

Urbanmyth’s on a quest to create a DC Direct display with as many characters from Crisis on Infinite Earths as possible (and we all know that DC Direct isn’t going to help him in this quest at all). This time he starts with some easy tweaks to some previously released characters and reactivates them in their COIE era costumes.

CriticalMess meets American Hotrod!

A dark blue sedan with a bat head in the front and a big scalloped fin: features that have been integral parts of Batmobile designs for over 60 years.  This design, with slight fluctuations (red pin stripes, scalloped fenders) appeared in comic books and newspaper strips for 10 years, until the Batmobile was hit with a bazooka (“Holy Ordinance, Batman!”) and replaced with a new design in 1950.
